We always love coming here. Something about this place differs from other Mexican restaurants in the area when it comes to the food, but in a good way. The wait staff can be hit or miss on service. Our toddler was getting anxious waiting so long for our check that I ended up waiting outside while my husband waited for the check inside. Otherwise great place!
I didn't eat for 24hr, then unfortunately stop by at this place for lunch. Omg that disgusted food i didn't have for while. Poor, poor!! Tortilla dry as sand and meat so greasy, they are even not able to mash avocado who is full of pieces! Wish but couldn't finish my meal even if I em not eat 24hr .This place they call restaurant???
Terrible service and rude staff. The hostess took at least five minutes to seat us, she was outside on a personal phone call and couldn’t even hang up the phone to seat everyone that was waiting, she put her phone down and seated everyone and was rude about it and then hurried back outside so she could continue on her phone call. The server we had to ask multiple times for our chips and salsa, finally I went in and asked the hostess if she could please get that for us, and she was incredibly rude and told us that if we ‘need’ it then she guesses she could do that, even though this is supposed to be a part of the meal. We were treated poorly the whole time, and I will never return to this restaurant. On a sidenote, the food was very good, the salsa was terrible.
First time dining here. Stopped in for dinner. We were greeted immediately and we chose a table on the patio. We ordered drinks and chips and salsa, for starters. After our drinks arrived, we ordered our dinners. The food arrived after a reasonable wait time. Serving size and temperature were perfect, for my liking. The food was very good. Good flavor and seasoning. Service was good and prices were as expected. I enjoyed our experience here and will likely return. I also enjoyed the atmosphere.
???My wife and I moved up here to the North State about 18 mos ago from Bakersfield. Bakersfield is known as a foody town. You can just about find a Mexican food restaurant or taco truck every where. We have been in search of a great Mexican food restaurant...and I do believe we found it here at Cicadas!We've eaten there on three separate occasions, twice for lunch and once for dinner. We are inclined to say that the lunch experiences were a lot better. But the dinner experience definitely didn't stop us from returning. Every place has a night off every now and then.
pricey, but tasty! nice service that wasn't overbearing. pleasant decor and atmosphere. the price point is all that will keep me from going back every week!

Food was delicious. They even have a dog menu. Our dog loved itIt was grilled chicken. Our server was very nice. I will go back there again. Everything was really excellent.
Second time here. It took a while for us to be seated. We were left hanging so the phone could be answered. Finally someone else seated us. I ordered the molcajete. The temperature was hot but my son's tostada's we're a bit cold. They didn't time it correctly. We felt the service could have been better. Food tasted good, might eat there again.
I've been here about 6 times and I'm blown away by the consistency. I love to explore menus when I go to places like this but when I ordered the same things that I went crazy for the first couple times they came out exactly the same, even though it was a slow night the first night and busy the next. The food is PHENOMENAL!! The service here is fantastic, fast, friendly and eager to please. I'm surprised this place didn't have a better rating, it is wonderful here. This place ROCKS!! Any suggestions on what I'd recommend to order please ask. ?
