Charlew's Tap House was A Fun Visit!!! They serve great pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, etc. They also have their (Redding) famous beer wall!!! Taps you serve yourself and pay by the ounce. We were really impressed with the brews they had to offer! I'd have to guess there were probably 12 to sample! We ordered spaghetti, pizza, chicken parm. Each were delicious! I'll definately be back!
Tried Charlews tonight and was so glad I did! My husband I were new to the beer wall and were a little overwhelmed. 3 separate employees came over to check on us to make sure we didn’t need any help. They all were very attentive to the beer wall to be sure no kegs were empty/ foamy. They gave us a refund on any beers that were too foamy. So impressed with both service and selection!
Franchisee of Mary's Pizza Shack apparently dropped the franchise, but the food and menu are very similar. Caesar salad lettuce was not fresh. Lasagna was ok. You now pay first and we ordered a mud pie. Manager came out and offered a substitute. We declined and he said he'd reduce the credit card charge. He did not, and now we have to dispute the overcharge.
Had the prime rib. Delicious. Pour your own beer tap wall is a must
Super delicious..the sour dough roll with tri tip sandwich was really good. Husband got the whiskey burger..and said it was also really good..
This place has the worst service I have EVER encountered and apparently can shadow ban any review that shows this type of service. My friend and I arrived 20 minutes after 5pm on a Friday.. All seats outside were taken (as expected) but the inside was empty...Waiters and waitresses were walking around looking at us while we stood there unsure what to do, there's no sign or designation of what you're supposed to do. Are you supposed to seat yourself? Are you supposed to wait to be seated? who knows? If the staff does not want to take the time to help you, at least have a sign to explain what it is the customer is supposed to do.Environment actually looks really cool but the service was absolute garbage. After standing there and pacing between 3 to 5mins walking back and fourth from the Beer wall to the counter area while a waitress sat there staring at us on the phone we decided to leave and went to a far better serving well known establishment where they seem to care a little more about service which results in repeat business. Will not be back, ended up being a complete waste of time and gas.Is the food and beer good or bad? Who knows?Place looks cool.. about all I can say that is positive.
Went on a Tuesday evening. It was quiet. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Twas good. My wife had a salad, twas ok.It bugs me that they ask for a tip before they have served me.
Dine in. Excellent service even while being short staffed. Buffalo garlic bread, protein plate with sautéed vegetables, and tap house combo are excellent choices.
Loved this place when it was Mary's. New format is confusing. It feels like an indoor fast food place. Pretty much a self-service restaurant now after your food arrives. Those used to the friendly, great service from Mary's Pizza Shack will be VERY disappointed now.
My wife and I really enjoyed Charles's Tap House. We were sad that it wasn't Mary's Pizza anymore. But when we entered and spoke to the waitress she informed us that it was the same family that has the restaurant. And they had the same menu and had just changed the name of the business. When we looked at the menu and saw our favorite pizza was still on the menu we smiled and ordered. Much to our surprise the pizza was just as scrumptious as before. We can't wait until we can return and munch again.
