This place has an amazing feel and 1940 classic style. Something that is truly hard to come across in this modern time of 2022. from the moment you walk in you can almost feel the richness of it all wash over you as you are being escorted to your table, complete with candlelight tables. The ambiance is beyond welcoming and warm. The service was 5 stars and the food was superb! They even had karaoke in the lounge while softer music played during dinner. Wrapping the evening up with coffee and dessert, I highly recommend the Lotus flower ? or the amazing Tiramisu. Again I highly recommend The Magic Lamp, giving it ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Le'a Stroud Google Reviewer✨️

LOVE this restaurant! Great ambiance, dark and romantic! Great food, excellent service. The bar area is so cool ! Love the fireplace! Like stepping back in time. We've been coming here for years!

Had a wonderful and delicious meal with excellent service. The wine list is extensive. Every need was attended to promptly and very pleasantly. My only negative comment is we really missed the relish tray, we were told it was discontinued with the pandemic. The relish tray is a relic from a bygone era that was so beloved by us and so we were very disappointed it was not available any longer. I hope Magic Lamp will bring it back!

Beautiful ambiance and peaceful dining. Friendly and professional staff at your service. Ask for anything from the bar and they know how to mix it. Food served hot and cooked to perfection. This is definitely the restaurant to go for a special evening or celebration.

For 19 years, we lived near the Magic Lamp and went with some frequency (not just special occasions). We were celebrating our anniversary, though, so we decided to drive the 1.5 hours to this establishment. We were greeted by extremely loud karaoke in the bar. We asked the hostess for a table as far away from the noise as possible. She did, but it was still so loud that talking was an issue (especially since other patrons around had to yell to be heard). We were disappointed that there was no longer a relish tray served. I understand cost cutting; why not make it available for a price? I ordered the tornadoes of beef. The waiter finally came by our table. I showed him how my meat was prepared well, rather than medium rare. The meat was replaced. The bread, though, was out-of-this-world good -- cheesy! The waiter said there were new owners since we'd moved away. The big room in the basement is apparently being restored now. I sure hope the karaoke is being moved down there. But wait -- we probably won't be back, even though my husband (who is now in his 70's) used to go with his grandparents. So it won't matter. When we left, the "magic lamp" out front wasn't lit. Wow. What a sad thing for such a former treasure to go in the tank.

The food is still very good, but they need to improve their operation. It's seems that they are focused on the older local market and not reaching for a younger demographic group. One major change should be removing karaoke and adding live music, contemporary or jazz.I would like to see this restaurant thrive before it becomes to late.

Great place with TONS of tradition. Local jazz music on Saturday nite for us. Big indoor fireplace surrounded by circular booth plus normal seating. Only thing is you only have 4 meal options that are $45-60 per plate. Beautiful building style and very clean decor ?

This place has been in the area for a long time so when I walked in and it was very clean and all the furniture was in great condition I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Alfonso was polite and attentive. The meal was delicious too! We will be coming back soon!

Truly tremendous experience! Just went here today to celebrate my Grandma's birthday around 3pm and the service was superb! I don't remember the waitress's name, but she was an angel. I'm not kidding. Very attentive and courteous, she even helped us put our leftovers away (which I've never seen at any restaurant before, the waitress putting away the food for you). She was so sweet ?. Mind you, the prices on the food are a bit high, hence the reason for coming here during the lunch hours, so this would be a good place for a date or a family gathering. My brother and I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it was so good!!!!?

Amazing mid-century steakhouse off historic Route 66. An amazing, old school interior with lush booths and a fireplace surrounded by a round lounge booth. Was sad to see it only a third full on a Saturday night. I hope this place can last. It’s a great time capsule. Opened in 1955, the same year as Disneyland.
