We are huge fans of BBD, we always stop at one when going out of town. But todays brunch was the worst we’ve ever had. My wife ordered the corned beef hash and the corned beef as like shredded shoe leather, the toast wasn’t even toasted at all, her over easy eggs were over hard. She ordered a side of bacon and it was drenched in grease. My granddaughter ordered French toast which was good but the syrup was like sugar water. I ordered the chili burger which was pretty good, chili was sweet which I don’t care for but that’s a preference. Best part of my wife’s meal was her water. Service was great nor bad, just so so. Will need to really think about returning to BBD or not. Very disappointed. I’m hoping it’s just that specific location and not all.

The food is delicious and the service was excellent. My only issue is that for a breakfast I do not see good reason to spend the amount of money that I did here. Denny's, IHOP, and Cracker Barrel all offer similarly great tasting food at a fraction of the cost. Worth a one time splurge visit, but not a regular or necessary stop in my opinion.

The #1 Credo was not exercised last night. Now to be fair it was 8:30 pm when we arrived. There was no one in the restaurant except for the server and the cook. The menu is overwhelming! There's no easy way to say it. It's kind of pricey to be a "diner!" There are way too many options to choose from.As first timers, I ordered the fish and chips and the hubster is ordered the chicken fried steak. Our food was prepared exactly the way we like it. Good....Good..Good!!!! The portion was enough to where I will have leftovers for lunch today. There was one concerning thing I noticed. There was a young boy (probably no older than 10) that was sitting at the counter. He was playing with his toy. He was occasionally loud! Now I understand that times are hard and babysitters are not easy to come by, however, he should not have been over there playing next to the kitchen. I considered it as unsanitary! As for our server, he was knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer our questions (despite the noisy kid playing in the restaurant), as well as make suggestions on the menu items.

Awesome place! Got treated to a Mother’s Day brunch with the family, and service was great. Though it was busy, our waiter, Mario, took great care of us and was very attentive. The manager even gave out flowers to the mothers! Highly recommend the chopped steak and eggs, very yummy.

We came in early about 4:00 p.m. only 2 other customers there. We waited a very long time for food. Food was very disappointing, salad wilted, roll hard as cement, hash browns tasted like uncooked pasta. Very disappointed in this experience tonight. Hardly anyone there anymore, understand why.

Nice place to eat at. last time I was here it was 2016 lol.I got the original French toast but ordered the stuffed blueberry french toast. The same price probably just as good wasn't that big of a deal for me.Thanks ?

Had a pleasant time here. This is my Niece's favorite spot. She wanted me to eat there. How could I go wrong with a fantastic place that serves breakfast for dinner? My niece ordered her bear pancakes & i ordered a Ruben Sandwich! So yummy. The customer service was more than hospitable. He went the distance for our order. We went after A Big St. Patty's day celebration, I'm sure that's why avocado was not available. ?? I ordered the Hot Chocolate, was so yummy. Remember to Stir to bring the chocolate up!!My niece actually Tried my Ruben sandwich & LOVED it. I'm pretty sure she would have ate the whole plate if I gave it to her. ?? And she doesn't eat everything so that should tell you something. We also ordered loaded potato squares. I'd order again. They have a section in front that my niece wanted to sneak away to. She wanted the most cutest Unicorn Boots. ?There a Very nice young woman helped us out.Ya know after everything our trip was more than a delight for My niece & that's what really mattered. HOPEFULLY they will will Have Avocado ? for Auntie next time. ????just kidding guys.Thank you for great customer service, awesome food, clean restrooms, fun Bear decorations & fast service on a busy busy St. Patty's weekend! We'll be back Soon for the Pink bear claw slippers in a week!? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Quality diner food with a charming atmosphere that will for sure fill you up. The biggest shock to me when I moved to California after growing up in Oklahoma, was that diners and diner food was held in higher regard out here. Where i came from, diner food is an easy staple that you for sure can find in any tiny town. Greasy spoon fare isn't something that will win you any awards, but it's good and filling. It was everywhere where I grew up. When I moved to the land of avacados and burritos, it's one of the first thing I noticed is that diner type food is special to the people out here. It's not on every corner, so they appreciate it and celebrate the type of food. So when I see diners with great reviews, I must admit, I immediately take it with a grain of salt. This is the type of food I've had most of my life and it takes a lot to impress me. Black Bear Diner fits right into this mold. Charming setup that looks like an expanded diner filled with busy waitresses smiling and slinging food and plates all over. The food is greasy, tasty and filling and there's a ton to choose from. We didn't have anything we didn't like, but the food fell right into the category of what's to be expected. The staff looked shorthanded and they all were super nice and professional. We waited a bit, but didn't bother us in the slightest because when we were helped, they made us feel at home. The only food that stood out to me was the chicken fried steak. It tasted very similar to how I had it back home and that's not an easy feat. You didn't even need a knife to cut it. I'm a little jaded when it comes to diners, but I had so many recommendations of this place that I had to try it. The food is great, the staff is fantastic and the place is warm and welcoming. If you enjoy diners, you'll most assuredly love this place. If your like me and grew up on this kind of stuff, it's a good place to scratch up some old memories with food that will definitely trigger some nostalgia.

We had brunch and the restaurant was busy as expected on a Sunday after church. Our wait was about a half hour and there were several empty seats at the counter. There was no hostess at the kiosk so we asked the girl behind the register if the counter was open seating or assigned in order like the restaurant tables. We were told it was assigned and the hostess would take our name. We later were told this was not correct information. We placed our name and waited the half hour to be seated. After we were seated I mentioned having to wait even for a seat at the counter and was told the counter was open seating. (Strike one) we then enjoyed a nice meal although the service was extremely slow for refills of coffee and checking back with us (again Sunday brunch rush understandable but not when added up with other faux paus....strike two). As we were leaving we were tempted by the Chocolate Coconut Caramel delight pie and bought one. After we had dinner we sat down to enjoy our pie and discovered the middle was runny and soup like. The whip cream was cold as was the pie tin and we even checked our fridge temperature thinking it may not have kept the pie cool. All was working well so we surmised the pie had been sold to us uncooked. We took the pie back the following morning and told them what had happened. This was a Monday at 0630 and we had the restaurant to ourselves. We decided to enjoy a quiet breakfast since we wre there already. We gave the waitress the pie and had our meal. Upon finishing, the waitress told us she could either refund us or exchange the pie. We opted for an exchange and still looked forward to a delicious pie. When she took another pie from the case we examined it and found it to also be unbaked with a liquid center. At this point we opted for a refund. The waitress told us she did not know how to refund the charge back to our card and there was no manager there. She said she would give us one of the breakfasts we had just eaten complimentary to offset the cost of the pie she couldn't refund to our card. (At this point both our breakfasts and the pie should have been complimentary ...... strike three) She apologized for the second pie and we explained we understood and things happen. The pies were probably with several other pies and someone didn't realize they hadn't been cooked yet (shift change/miscommunication again things happen). They probably decorated the pies with the whip cream topping and put them out in the case not realizing an important step had been missed (cooking). After we left with our one free breakfast, one paid for breakfast and still no pie we thought we should call and tell them there were probably other pies which were in the same condition in the display case still. Not wanting someone to mistakenly eat a pie with raw ingredients such as egg in it. When we called the restaurant and after fifteen unanswered rings received a message saying the mailbox was full and could not take anymore messages (strike four). We tried several more times to call back realizing they might be busy but every attempt ended with the same frustrating voicemail. We then thought the corporate office should be aware of the situation and the lack of ability to address it with the individual store. When we called corporate we were told that we would have to contact the offending store directly. When we explained that we had tried and the results. The answer to us was that they would email the store and relate our concerns (strike five, six and seven) I feel that a corporate office should be the avenue to resolve an issue you have if you are unable to resolve it with the original problem store. I guess I was wrong and it is a simple shell game to pass the buck until I get tired of complaining and go away. Daryl Gaunt (909) 518-2232

Great food and service. Our food was cooked perfectly by the cook Mark. Repeat customers for sure.
