Sal and Oliver were great! We had the artichoke appetizer (garlic!), the Italian salad (lots of good stuff), and the creamy Gorgonzola gnocchi with walnuts. Good size portions on the latter two dishes. We ate out on the patio, and the fresh air was wonderful.

Had a great experience at this restaurant. We were seated right away, our order was taken as soon as we were ready and everything came out as quickly as possible. However where they truly went above and beyond was when I mispronounced/misspoke my dish when ordering so there was a miscommunication. Then when it came out and was not what I thought I ordered they were so very kind to switch it to exactly what I wanted without any issues which made me feel extremely appreciative of their understanding for their customers. The staff is very attentive and kind. You will feel welcome and enjoy a great meal. We had the pepperoni pizza, lasagna bolognese and the eggplant parmigiana. Every dish was excellent. Definitely give them a try if you’re looking for authentic Italian. I’m glad I found them after moving from NY and missing all of my favorites.

Food is delicious. Come here all the time for take out. Decided to dine in and as expected, food was DELICIOUS. However, the particular server we had, left a bad taste in my mouth. Explained the specials, sounded lovely, took our drink order, came back took our food order, delivered drinks delivered food. All pretty typical. But that was it. Never came back til everyone had already gone and I was just left to sit here and write this review. Bummer on the first time dine in experience. Won’t deter me from coming back either. Place is super good and up until now I thought the prices were fair. But the service is lacking big time.Check em out tho; maybe you’ll have a better experience.I’ll update this on my next visit if the experience improves.

good food in the town and great service must visit

Not sure what all the fuss is about? I am extremely surprised by all the praise for this restaurant? Perhaps it is different when you dine in. The website states traditional Italian food, more like traditional 'American Italian' food. Either people are extremely hungry and love anything they swallow or not well traveled. As far as my experience goes;I called a take out order. The guy answered and said sure what would you like, oh actually can you please hold. Got back on phone and hung up. I called again, asked if I could hold. Another guy picked up and received my order. Fine.My best friend picked up the meal, said the place was hopping and the atmosphere seemed fun. Nice. Now most importantly the food; The Pollo Parmigiana was basic, the side of mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, and the best part of the dish were the vegetables. The meat lasagna definitely had a nice blend of cheese but you would have to search for the meat inside. Finally the gnocchi was decently cooked but the sauce was common. In fact when it comes to the sauce on all 3 dishes, they all seemed to be watery without any delicious texture whatsoever.I am quite surprised by all of the reviews claiming how amazing and delicious the food was? I tasted nothing but too much salt in every bite and not enough Italian flare, American or otherwise.Having family in Long Island NY and familiar with many cities in Italy and Sicily, this is NOT traditional. My best friend asked the next day if I wanted any of the leftovers. My response; is that some sort of sick joke?!You want authentic and delicious 'Italian' food in San Diego, go to The Godfather on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Trust.

Great quality food, really fast and friendly service, really good wines. Top shelf on every level. I doubt I even need to give this place a good review because all the locals pack this place with loyalty, but it deserves it anyway. Eat here. That's all I have to say.

We’ve been here a couple of times, but this last visit was perfect. Sal, our waiter, gave us some really good ideas about house specialties. My wife’s veal was perfect and my penne fabulous. The Chianti was light but rich and Sauvignon blanc refreshing. We can’t wait to return. The dishes came fairly quickly and they serve a nice Italian bread and red sauce while you wait. Warm outdoor seating is available. Bon apetito

The food was good but the wait staff waited between 30 minutes of us getting water and ordering our appetizers.

It's our place to dine. Great food. Antonio and all the staff are wonderful. John Adams

I must have walked past Villa Capri a thousand times, and it’s been on my list of restaurants to try for quite a while. Tonight I decided it’s a good time to give it a shot and I’m very glad I did. This place is fantastic. They had a lobster ravioli in a pink sauce (probably my favorite pasta dish of all times), and their version might have been the best I’ve ever had. I also wanted to mention that we decided to get dessert (something we never do) and settled on splitting this chocolate lava cake with ice cream and raspberry sauce — the Vulcano, I believe it is called. It was so damn good. I would’ve normally given my girlfriend the last bite, but I could not help myself. As you can probably tell, the food is pretty much the only thing I care about when rating a restaurant, but I must say that the atmosphere was quite enjoyable and the service top-notch. As more and more crappy restaurant chains pop up on what seems like a weekly basis, it’s nice to know there are still family-owned gems serving delicious, high-quality food within a 10 mile radius of my house. In other words — I will DEFINITELY be coming back.
