Delish soups yellow curry great service atmosphere
Looks like they changed chef or something. Good wasn't as good as it used to be. I still love that place though.
I love the ambience, very cozy and the food is delicious. The red or yellow curry are my favorite, and the spring rolls always hot and crispy.
This restaurant made me feel like a second class citizen because they denied me access to dining inside and only gave me access to eat outside when it was extremely cold because I didn't provide proof of vaccination, which isn't even the law in san Diego county. they said that they wanted to protect their employees but, if the vaccine works, they should be protected whether an unvaccinated person is in the room or not. or if the vaccine doesn't work then both an unvaccinated person and vaccinated person can catch and spead covid 19. either way neither party should be discriminated against.
The owner, Nikki, is very nice and so are her staff. The food is also delicious and the restaurant is very beautiful inside! I would go back again!
It is the best thai restaurant in Poway. One of the best thai food in Poway
Overpriced for portion size. Fried garlic pepper wings were soggy and sampler was oily
Everything about Takarai Thai is excellent, the menu options, the food, the service, prices and ownership. Please support this restaurant during these difficult times, you won’t be disappointed!
The food is really good, but overly priced. I paid $18.26 for yellow vegetable curry with extra vegetables. There were only 6 thin, tiny triangles of tofu in the whole dish! And instead of doubling down on the veggies that are typically in the yellow curry, the $2 extra I paid bought me some super thinly sliced zucchini and a couple pieces of broccoli... big whoop. These folks seem like they are really out to rip you off here. The COVID restrictions are a bit overboard. They have a table blocking the entrance with a front desk bell, which is whatever, but at least be on the lookout for customers. My boyfriend and I were going to dine-in on their patio one evening. I rang the bell 3 times, waiting a lot of time between rings, and no one came to help me, although I could hear people and saw a woman walk by at least once. The food is really good though. I would eat here more often if it weren’t such a rip off. The other Thai restaurant in Poway allows for indoor dining and puts plenty of Tofu in their dishes. Just piece of their tofu was probably equal to the 6 tiny triangles of tofu that you get here. When this restaurant didn’t answer their desk bell that blocks the door, we had no choice but to go there and check it out. The other Thai restaurant also has alcohol, if you are looking to have a drink after work. This one does not and is currently only seating customers on the patio, with the main entrance blocked off.
I love Thai food, and this place always satisfies my cravings! My favorite items are the orange chicken - crispy and zesty - and the classic Pad See Ew. Service is relatively fast and the restaurant is beautiful and I love the atmosphere! Great place for a nice lunch or dinner with friends!
