Best Deli in North County. I go specifically for “The Jersey Shore…Papa’s Way” (Double Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese) because… A) Where else can you get Taylor Ham in San Diego?…B) It’s a Fu**’en Amazing breakfast sandwich…C) It’s reminds me of home and …D) Because you’re not here.This place has the best sandwiches and no lines bc people would rather follow the other sheep for a corporate sandwich at Jersey Mikes, Quizzinos or Subway. But that’s a California thing, keep Walmart open and close independent shops .It doesn’t have to be that way, you can shed your wool and stand on two feet and have a great breakfast or lunch in the meantime. Or don’t and at least I don’t have to wait to be served.
I've only had the cob salad there 3 times, but wow, its amazing, healthy (somewhat, except the delicious bacon) and reasonable.
LOVE THIS PLACE! East Coast tasting and it's amazing ? They'll make everything without meat for Veggies out there ? I'll bring my daughter down one day for the Pork Roll so she has a taste of my childhood. I'm so happy I found this place ?

First time coming here, just picked this place for lunch on a chance since it was nearby a place I'm doing some service. Extremely happy I found them. One sandwich and I'm hooked. Great selection of sandwiches with quality breads, not just run of the mill dry hoagie buns. The sandwich I was eating was so good I had to stop half way through to take a picture, this was the hot sandwich Chicago Italian Beef Sub. Definitely recommend!
Delicious food and super friendly service! They welcomed us in and were very helpful. I appreciated the care they give to their customers, and it shines through their tasty food too!! Great place to come and will be back :)
Papa Duke is very nice, but the sandwiches here are way too expensive. My boyfriend loved the place until his last sandwich ended up costing him $16… and no, he didn’t get a meal, just a sandwich. I think the sandwiches are okay, although I wish there was more of a selection of toppings. When I’m feeling vegetarian, I can only eat a cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato, for example. I understand that this is a small business, but there are other small businesses that seem to provide quality products at a competitive rate, (i.e. Elmisa Café in Rancho Bernardo). I really feel that Papa Duke’s can do much better. Also, if you order online, you may end up receiving their daily emails for the rest of your life, regardless of whether you want them. Service is always fast and friendly, even during lunch hour. I wish I could give a better rating, but for the value, this is a 2 star spot.
