My favorite Japanese restaurant. Everything I tried has so much flavor. The quality is amazing for the price. Food comes out quickly.
This is such a hidden gem.The food is great.The lady that works the front of the restaurant is so sweet. She is always there.They have lunch special bento boxes until 4:30 pm. Really a lot of food with a soup, salad and beverage for around $10-13.Good deal.Sushi prices are cheap.Great selection of Japanese beers.We will be back.
As a person lived in Japan for 10 years, I can say this place is the most authentic Japanese restaurant you can find in Poway, RB, PQ area. I tried Sashimi, tempura, karaage. They are all really good!! The sashimi is fresh and tasty!! The restaurant is really clean too. The lady working there is nice and friendly as well. Highly recommend this place!!!
Such a wonderful place to eat! There’s always such a sweet woman up front running the place. A very wholesome and clean environment, the food is amazing and exceeds my expectations every time! Ichizen is not necessarily a hole in the wall but is a must go kind of place to anyone wanting some home style Japanese food in San Diego!
Great service and good food, but sad to see styrofoam, straws, and plastic bags still being used for takeout. I’ll be choosing more sustainable establishments in the future.
It's nice, quiet, cozy, and above everything else, DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! The staff is super friendly, and super accurate with your order. This place is excellent!!!!!
We have always loved this place from the first time we dined in years ago. The food is always delicious and fresh. Please be patient, as they don’t have a lot of help and this is a mom and pop shop. The pandemic has made small businesses close doors and I hope people will be kind and understanding. Order early and be patient, it is always worth it. Support local businesses.

Great Japanese restaurant in the nearby neighbor. It is a must try place. My family enjoy the sushi and sashimi combo. Miso soup is also taste great, almost the same when we traveled to Japan. Will back to here for sure~
This place is so good! I think I have a new favorite place to eat when I'm in town!I had the sesame chicken bento box and I loved it! The vegetable tempura was really good, so was the sesame chicken! It also came with miso soup and a drink!The customer service is excellent and they were so nice!
