very fast service love it
As a breakfast spot, the cafe is decent. The service is quick, and my food came out hot and faster than I expected. I had the breakfast sandwich with hash browns and it was good. The ham didn't taste very fresh, but the buttery bread and fresh cheese made up for that. I added my hash browns to the sandwich for added flavor. The one thing that always hangs me up about Generals Cafe is how expensive it can be. I only got the breakfast sandwich and a soda and it cost me $20. The sodas are already expensive at around $3.59, but when I was offered cherries and cherry juice (the juice that the cherries come in) to make a cherry Pepsi, I wasn't informed that would be an additional charge and take the cost of my soda from $3.59 to $4.49. This place is a decent step up from Denny's, but if you're looking for cheap, I'd go to Denny's.
I understand every now and then staff will mess up on your orders and mistakes will be made... But that's when the manager needs to step up and make things right and not get combative when someone brings the mistakes to his attention.... I like the food and I keep giving this place a second and third chance and the staff keeps disappointing by messing the orders..no bueno....sad
Food was hot, fresh & delicious. Service was above excellent,promise l'll be back.
First time eating here and I have to say, the food was good. Everything was cooked and prepared just right. The customer service was excellent. Overall, I would recommend and definitely come again if I am in the Porterville area.

This is a breakfast/brunch and lunch dine in restaurant. They serve great quality food, low cost and at a fast pace. Its a great place to bring the family!
I was pretty good, the only complaint is i think they forgot about us. Waited a while for my tab, then i had to ask for it cause my waitress never came back.
We were waiting for car repairs and the employees told us about the restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast and I was glad there was a senior menu too! The omelet was fluffy and hot. There was a choice of potatoes and toast. Staff was pleasant and thanked us for coming.
