Very tasty food at a really reasonable price. We would love to come back anytime.Sergio was a really nice waiter.

Friendly staff, good food. They did not have any Grandma's Famous Cobbler, so I left disappointed. It's one of my favorite things to get when I visit a Black Bear Diner.

I was not in mood to go out for dinner, so we just ordered takeout from here. In hindsight, we're glad we did as it was prom night in Porterville and they were really busy. I had the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and the soup of the day. The food was good, but too much for me and my husband had to help. My husband had a kids macaroni and cheese meal that came with a side of fruit and enjoyed it.

Went for breakfast this morning. I ordered the Roasted Red Pepper & Chicken Sausage Scramble. Either the cooks weren't familiar with this item or had to improvise because they were out of ingredients cuz I got the Scramble with chicken sausage but it was quite different then described. This may sound like a complaint but honestly no complaints at all. It was so well prepared & tasted so good & service was Owesome!

The food was great! I love the FRESH squeezed orange juice.

I've been coming to this Black Bear location for years and it has gradually started to lose its charm and service. The last time I went, the waitress was very sweet and attentive; glad she waited on our table. It took her forever to get our drink order which wasn't her fault because she noticed we had no drinks yet and stepped in. The food, however, is lacking a lot of flair and care. My taco shell was nearly burnt and I requested a Beyond Burger be used in place of ground beef and, instead, I'm treated to over cooked cubes that barely covered the enormous salad. I mean, this chain isn't bad, but they rarely cater to vegans, some of their staff is incompetent and rude and it isn't really that great anymore even if the portions are big.

Went for lunch today (to give this place a 2nd chance after a horrible breakfast earlier in the week)This place needs to close, its gone way down hill. . Horrible customer service. Food has gone down hill. Business must be bad, my daughter was offered a kids menu, only to have piss poor waiter (with the tone and form of a bouncer) tell her she couldn't order. Some people want simpler items and smaller portions. Go to Applebees, The General's Cafe or Dennys for nice employees, and superior food.

This restaurant is located right off highway 65 on west olive. Plenty of parking plenty of seating. I recommend going during the week. Must try the pies, delicious.

This had to be the worst food I've ever eaten. Don't waste your money. Everyone in the kitchen is supposed to wear masks, they just use them as a chin guard. Saw the cooks eating over my food and they did not wash their hands after. Not very sanitaryeven without covid. Won't eat there again.

I have had nothing but great food until today. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and there was no cheese, no thousand island dressing and very little sauerkraut. In addition the meat was crispy like bacon and not soft.
