Amazing breakfast burrito. I got a breakfast burrito with carne asada at 6:30 in the morning. It was everything I thought it could be and more. I had to brush up on my Spanish while ordering but I definitely understand when it involves food! The salsa is also amazing which adds to the flavor of the burrito. This place is definitely worth a try ?
My first time there and the food is delicious I got a chili verde burrito?♥
Really good place to eat as well as getting your morning pan, best place by far ?
First everything was more expensive and smaller portions , I orderd a wet chili verde burrito and it was dry on the plate was a side of shredded lettuce and 3 diced pieces of tomatoe .My husband orderd his meal with no chili and when they brought it it was coverd in chili ???? Never again
We as a family has enjoyed El Merendero in Pomona (used to be located next to Fox Theatre) for many decades. They have moved across the street and we still go back. They have good food , love the champurrado and pozole. They have the bakery next door so you can get your pan dulce there as well.
This place charged me $399.41 instead ofCharging me $39.41. They didn't believe me and I down with the receipt. How dare they not believe me!!! It was THEIR fault! Finally after so much time they gave us cash back but still charged me for my meal! I SUGGEST FOR ANYONE DONT DO ANY BUSINESS HEREAT EL MERENDERO ON GAREY AVE POMONA.
Always a great pleasure and the fact that it's attached to the bakery is a win win! The chilaquiles were awesome! The food here is tasty! Will definitely be coming back more often
My first time here today with a few friends. I ordered a torta combo. Which comes with a Torta, fries, and a drink. I get my food and the torta bread is stale and old. The bread was so hard I’m sure the person preparing the sandwich felt how hard it was and just didn’t care. My friend ordered the same thing and also said her bread was stale and hard too. The lemonade was awfully to sweet and tangy. And I barely received any fries. I will not be back.
El Merendero was okay. I ate menudo that was a little chewy indication that it need to be cooked longer.I asked for butter that I never got.Flavor also indication that the meat also needed more cleaning to eliminate that funkymenudo smell.Doused with herbs, spices, salt made it edible.
Been eating here since they were located across the street SW corner of 2nd/Garey next to the Fox Theater...Family favorite for 4 generations of my family (my mom, me, my daughter & now my granddaughter) plus multiple other family members...A must try:Nachos w/ shredded beefCombo burrito (w/carne asada)My fav?Chili Relleno and Enchilada dinner?????????????
