Outdoor dining here is very pleasant. The service is good. The food is pretty good but has gotten really pricey. Basically double what I pay for the same dish in other cities. I made a reservation and specified it was my motherâs 90th birthday. Not one mention from any staff about this and absolutely no offer of a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. Kind of disappointing! There are other restaurants in Pleasanton and Livermore where the value is much better.
My family got together with both sets of grandparents to celebrate my daughter starting college. Blue Agave is a great place for large groups (we were 8) because of the spacious patio. In summer, the patio is shaded in the evenings, and it is very pleasant. The margaritas and food are always excellent, and the service is prompt and friendly. Only complaints: the menu rarely changes, and the music can get quite loud. But I will continue coming here for dates and special occasions, I always have a wonderful time.

Good food and excellent portions. I am a fan of mole and the mole here is spot on. My uncle had the fish - mahi mahi - beautiful cut and delicious flavors. All of the food was well-balanced and delicious. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Well done.
Street musician with guitar was kind of loud so it was hard to have a decent conversation. Otherwise food and service was great!

Seriously, the worst service . Worst food I have experienced in my wine and dine life history. Terrible service from the second we were seated . Inattentive with a side of attitude from the server. Biggest regret was picking blue agave for lunch. A total embarrassment to my in laws who drive an hour to meet us for family lunch. Food was disappointing and presentation was unappetizing. The green sauce on my dish was just thrown on the plate with no attempt to clean the plate . I was fasting that morning and so hungry and I couldnât even eat my order . This isnât the blue agave experience I had 15 years ago. Disgusting , upset and feel robbed of my money. A waste of $130 I spent for a meal. I will NEVER eat here again , and will make sure I share my experience with everyone I know Iâm the tri valley community . Management /owners , I hope you see this , and try to make this right . Because this is the worst dining experience Iâve had . I wish I took pictures .
