I went in on Sunday morning for breakfast. I had amazing service from Jennifer. She was the most eccentric waitress I have ever seen. I had the most fun and she made me laugh. It was nice since I had a death in the family this last week and not much to smile about. Pancakes were out of this world. Jennifer though…very witty and a lot of fun and very beautiful I must add. Keep up the good work black bear diner!

Always such an amazing experience eating at Black Bear. The portions are very generous and the food tastes delicious!! As a veteran I appreciate the discount but it goes beyond that. Their staff is always very attentive and courteous. Will definitely visit them again!!
Highly recommend signing up for their club as you get a free bear breakfast. The pancakes are so good! And the biscuits and gravy is big enough for two meals.
Since moving away from greater Bay Area; we look to the nearest Black Bear Diner for a delicious and filling meal (usually breakfast or dinner). Can't go wrong with their extensive menu selections.

Worst pancakes I ever ate! So surprised because I had very good pancakes at black bear ? diner in Oakley, but this time at the restaurant in Pleasanton was a whole different experience. The pancakes were extremely dry, under cooked and tasteless. It was a pick up order and I had to cook the pancakes at home, unfortunately it didn’t work and I ended tossing them into the garbage. My five year old nephew can make a better pancake.
Do you see this salad… the best salad hands down. Crispy Cobb Salad…it comes with Bacon but I don’t eat pork!! Chicken is the best part!! Great and fast service!
It was a Friday and Lent has already begun. They have an all-you-can-eat fish fry! It was absolutely delicious! My husband, myself, and 1 of my daughters ordered all you could eat Fish Fry, and my other daughter ordered the "UN-Blackened" Salmon. She wanted only Salmon simply cooked. They accommodated her. All of our French Fries were crisp, perfectly salted. The fish fry came with hush puppies, and they were kind of sweet with a savory finish. The coffee was hot, and my daughters sodas were crisp. My toddler had a kids chicken strips with fries, and that was a great portion, and the chicken was perfect too. She ate a lot. We all did! This was our 2nd time going here, but 1st time for dinner. We will be back! It's a perfect stop to eat dinner when we drive out to our other home in Manteca from SF. Around 6 p.m., the traffic is crazy, so getting an awesome dinner while traffic is passing by was great. Also, I want to mention that the service was awesome! They were all very attentive, and the bathrooms were very very clean!
Went late night, slower service probably bcuz there was a late night small staff. I had the pot roast which was good, but smaller than I expected. The gfs chicken salad had more on her plate than mine did. Its usually better for breakfast. I'll still go back.
