The BEST Chinese food! Iron Wok used to be located in Elk Grove/Sacramento where lived, and now we go out of our way to stop in Placerville to eat/takeout at Iron Wok because the Food & family-owned business are so worth the drive!!
We came in for dinner but saw that it was take-out only because they were short staffed. However, they let us sit out on their patio tables to eat our meal. The lady was so nice. She bought us our food and let us know they would be closing soon, but showed us the nearest trash can so we can throw away our trash when we were finished. The food had so much flavor. I got the eggplant in garlic sauce with chicken and omg it was the best. We had some chow fun too and loved it as well. We will be coming back soon :)
We got the Orange Chicken, egg rolls, and the House Special Chow Mien& (chicken, pork and prawns). Excellent once again! My favorite Asian cuisine in the area, maybe anywhere…their chicken dishes taste amazing and everything is so fresh!! Reasonable prices…spent $35, fed 3 adults, and have leftovers! They are consistently outstanding.
Orange Chicken was very fatty and wasn’t good at all.The Walnut Prawns were slightly better but not very good. Couldn’t eat it all. Very disappointed.

Oh gosh the food is so good and the portions are so large. They are take out only right now, and that worked out so well because that's all we wanted. There was also some spots out front for us to sit since we ordered take out when we got there and waited maybe 15-20 minutes? Not long at all. It's so tasty of food too. They're probably in my top 5 Chinese food places now.
My favorite Chinese food in town, a little more expensive then the other Chinese food but for me it's worth it because the food is so much better!!
Tried this place for the first time on 11/13/21and I gotta say I was blown away how good the food was! We got the Mongolian Beef, hot&sour soup, chicken wonton soup and vegetable egg roll. The portions are a good size with lots of protein. I haven’t had this good of Chinese food in a long time!!
Generous servings, really great choe mien. Good solid food. Order ahead early.
