I visited Buttercup Pantry while visiting Lake Tahoe. The place is comfortable and staff is friendly. I ordered crabby in the morning for breakfast. The potatoes side was bland. Egg was cooked to perfection. The card cakes was good to taste but the cheese provided made it average. Overall good place.

inside decor and food was great!!

The food here is terrific! Our family has eaten here twice now and everything from the breakfast to sandwiches to salads are wonderful. You get good size portions and the service is friendly. Will definitely be back ?

let me just say how unbelievably clean this place is! the service is friendly and quick. Last, my food was amazing! My husband got a corned beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and a side salad, which he enjoyed every bite. Love this place and definitely plan to return.

I love that this place serves breakfast late. The decorations are retro and really cool. I had high hopes for the food, but it sorta fell flat of my expectations unfortunately. The pancakes looked like the frozen microwaved kind, and the gravy on my skillet was a bit bland. I found it kinda funny too that we got packets of kraft honey and the little packets of butter. I just thought they’d have the real things available. The portion size of the skillet was very generous. Overall, I felt like they’re just average. Nothing terrible, but nothing really stood out to make me want to come back.

It was Sunday so we expected to have to wait but were seated in 5 minutes. Service was a little slow due to the full restaurant but not to the point where it was aggravating. The wait staff were cheerful and brought the food promptly when it was ready. The food was quite good and in such generous portions that we all brought home leftovers, enough for another meal. Our grandson had the Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert and loved it.

The liver and onions, most places don’t serve it. Don’t forget the fried chicken. Our server was very attentive and made us feel comfortable. We’ll be back

Visit here was great! Our server was very sweet and understanding. All of the dishes there have tasted very good and top quality. This place reminds me of a grandma's cooking restaurant and the food fits that description well. I would definitely recommend! It is nice for having a nice brunch with my mother, or a family dinner that's close in town in Placerville that we can get to quickly.

This is a gem of a restaurant for great food, good service, and interesting old time ambiance. Their tea pot collection, on display throughout the restaurant, is delightful and astonishing. Christmas was expressed by their equally fabulous collection of Santa dolls. The food is home cooked and excellent wether you're having breakfast, lunch or dinner. The selections are many and varied... enough to please everyone. I had the Popeye wrap...spinach wrap with egg, bacon, cheese and red country potatoes with onion and peppers. Tasty and filling. I took half home. Try the place, I'm sure you'll love it as well. We stop there every time we go to the mountains. Easy on and off 50 at 49.

Such a nostalgic experience. My friend and I were charmed by all the vintage pieces and the country decor. Most memorable was a collection of mid-century vending machines in the vestibule...straight from my childhood. And the dining was as enjoyable...large portions, well prepared and courteously served...good value too. I shall return!
