The best Italian food I've ever had, it's authentic and hearty. I live in Carmichael and take the drive to Placerville just for this place. The portions are great and the prices are reasonable. I've had the spaghetti and meatballs, rigatoni with sausage, linguine and prawns, Ravioli, the pizzas, and the bene special calzone.... All were splendid. The drinks are amazing too. Very nice people and ambiance.
After having experienced pizza firsthand when traveling in the Naples, Italy, region, I have to say, the pizza margherita with mozzarella di bufala is magnificently *spot on*. When I asked about it after my meal, the waiter said they use recipes from that area of Italy and cook it in an Italian pizza oven. It shows. It is *the* most authentic Italian pizza I've had anywhere in my travels here in the States, from the East coast to the West. Try it, and experience the authentic taste of Napoli!
Enjoyed a nice Sunday family dinner. Filet special was cooked perfectly. Margarita Pizza with Roasted garlic and lasagna ?
Lasagna was average, minestrone soup good. Very good bread, and excellent cappuccino. Friendly staff. Disappointed that we could not sit in a booth since there were just 2 of us, they said that they were saving it for 4. It was late and no one else came in. Also they would not seat me until my husband came in, he was parking the car. Again they were not busy….might try the pizza if we return.
The food here has always been excellent! I've had the Linguini and Prawns, large Italian Green Salad with grilled prawns, Afogato, Panna Cotta and Ravioli at different times. Their garlic bread is scrumptious! They used to have a female bartender who was excellent but they lost her somehow and got a young man who was not nearly as good. It has been about 9 months so hopefully they have someone better now. It can be noisy and crowded but it one of the best restaurants I've been to in California.
I have lived in Placerville for over 30 years and I am a strong supporter of our local Main Street and businesses. I love my town and I am extremely involved in our community. I never right reviews. We tried to dine in for my daughter’s birthday and the size of party seemed to really put the hostesses out. She was extremely rude and did not seem to want anything to do with our family. She refused to seat us with only one person missing from our party as well. In addition there food is not all that great and they are extremely over priced. I have a big mouth and l will be sharing this experience with family and friends.
The food was fantastic. Authentic Italian dishes. Best seafood linguine I’ve ever had. So much seafood I thought my dish was a plate of mussels. My new favorite go to Italian Restaurant. The owner, chef and bartenders are very nice and my drink was very good. Can’t wait to try the deserts. Two thumbs up, Bene!
Came in last minute on Christmas Eve. Everyone was super accommodating. The quality of the cuisine and service was something we’re talking about the next day. Incredibly authentic Italian. Thank you for your hospitality.
Wow! 1st time in this restaurant. This is the place we have been looking for since we moved to Placerville over a year ago.Best pizza I've had on the 50 corridor! Cheesy garlic bread was a winner too. Can't wait to come back!
There's a lot of restaurants in the area, but when we want to go out, we always enjoy Bene. They have excellent food, a well stocked bar and friendly service. The ambiance suits everyone, it can be a bit crowded, but definitely worth the (usually short) wait.
