The best lobster bites. We loved the fried fish, French fries and hush puppies. The service was excellent.
I fell in love with this place the first time I went. Customer service was great and great clean soul food for the soul! I literally got lost in my thoughts as I was chewing one of the lobster bites( hush puppies). It so good I had to take my time chewing. Great place to eat. I pray that you guys stay.
For a restaurant that is brand new they are doing a great job of making you feel valued, important and working out the kinks. An excellent value for your dollar.Finding cornmeal fish fillets is very rare around here. Hush Puppies is an excellent find.I had catfish basket w/vinegar slaw and the hush puppies were perfect! Fish cooked precisely as you would want. Look at that pic. It's not the typical two pieces on a mountain of fries. That is a mountain of catfish fillets!!!!Pittsburg's best kept secret us out. Between Popeyes and Walmart at Leland @ Loveridge. Great parking. Carey out only. Ormond works the front counter. He can address any questions you have!
Ordered 3 meat meal with 2 sides for 2 adults. Got chicken wings, catfish, shrimp, extra hush puppies and coleslaw. So good almost forgot to take photo. We were halfway through before I did. Awesome hush puppies. Great flavor. Fish and shrimp have a good crispy corn coating. Not greasy at all. Chicken was very juicy and perfectly cooked. Not spicy and provided Frank's hot sauce if you wanted. Coleslaw was mayo based. Had a small vinegar tange ( not my personal fav) but still good. Would definely recommend.
The place is "takeout only." No room for tables.Traditional "Southern fried" fish and seafood. 3 or 4 different types of fish with shrimp and oysters. They even have calamari. Very good seasoning with cornmeal dredge. Food prepared to order, so it's fresh but takes some time.Will go again!
Best fried shrimp I've ever had, and fabulous local business. Had a basket with shrimp, potato salad, and hush puppies. The batter was perfectly crunchy, the shrimp were fresh, and they were HUGE. The potato salad was a little sweet for me, but that's a reflection on me, not them. It was still wonderful and chunky and creamy all at the same time. I ordered extra hush puppies because I have kids, but I'm not gonna lie. I ate the first one and by the time I was home (less than 2 miles), there was only one left for my kids to split. Definitely a great spot to stop for pescatarian. I'll be a regular now.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this restaurant because I love soul food. Then I tasted it and fell in love. They are the nicest people too. If I could I would give y'all 100 ⭐✨
Lets talk about the good: the onion rings were great! Crispy and not soggy--the way onion rings should be. The regular hush puppies were fine, and the fried shrimp were fine. My mother had shrimp and white fish, which she liked. Now for the bad---lobster hush puppies--burnt. As if someone forgot they were in the oil. I fed those to my cat. I definitely would go back.
Really great food. Nice family/husband and wife team running it. I went in looking for Just Crackn and thought the menu had changed. But I found out it was a totally new restaurant. So glad! This food is even better. Took my Mother In Law/master cook today and she's raving over the catfish and oysters. I really pray they succeed. I highly recommend!
The whole menu is delicious. Surf and turf burger is awesomeness. Fish, chicken, shrimp and salad with seafood on it...the house dressing o my goodness. Then there is the hushpuppies, the best I've had. I drive from Sacramento, Vacaville or Oakland just to get some satisfying food and great service
