I've lived my whole life in Southern California and have never been to this restaurant. My buddy took me there and we had the salad and bread meal well worth it. The restaurant is dark inside. You can see but it's pleasantly dark. Also had a shrimp cocktail ,probably the best item on the menu.I rate this place a 110 our of a 100.Go there you'll understand.
We had the best dinner at Clearman's. It is an old school steak and seafood house and it is great.Make sure you make reservations or you may find yourself waiting a long time. They also serve brunch and you should make reservations for that as well. I have not had their brunch so I can not comment, but I hear it is very good.Parking was easy in their lot and the hostess was wonderful. We were sat within just a few minutes of our reservation and a server was with us straight away. The service was exceptional. Our server knew the menu well and also had information about the wine list. We were checked on several times and when we were ready to go a check soon came for us. We were so happy with the service. The food was great. We shared a large prime rib dinner, cooked rare, and it was perfect as was the salad and baked potato. We also had a filet that was so tender and cooked perfectly. They have some great sides that you will want to consider. We saved just a little room for dessert and had sherbet, which was so good.We love this place and will be back.

First things first, the cocktails. Very reasonably priced and tasty. The food was in huge portions and just kept coming. The prices are great for the food that is served. The server does most of the work table side. All meat is flambéed before serving and baked potatoes are prepared to your liking. I love this place, even though I'm a vegetarian. There is more than enough food and choices. I can't wait to come back.
Let me be the one to say I am sad for the demise of this place. My family has been coming here we’ll over 20+ years.Came in on a Wednesday night and about 15 minutes later I regretted making the reservation. Our party of 2 got put right next to a party of 20 and we couldn’t even hear each other speak. Drink orders took about 10-15 minutes to get to our table. Food was well over 35 minutes. Potato was even cooked through. Then to top it off it took the server 30 mins to get our check. In short, Steak n Stein is no longer worth the price.RIP.
Always the best! I've been coming here since I was a kid. And my dad has been coming here since he was a teenager. Our whole family thoroughly enjoys coming to steak n stein. You really can't go wrong with any of the food here. It's hands down my favorite place for special occasions or whenever I just want to treat myself to a good meal. On top of fantastic food, the staff is always happy and friendly.
Delicious boneless ribeye steak, baked potato, salad and garlic cheese bread! The servers courteous and professional!
everything but the king crab legs they were cold and i only got three legs for $99 dollars
When the "Signature house steak" is a burger patty... Then you know the steak is going to be really bad.Yes, you read that right. The signature house steak which was recommended by the waitress, was ground beef.. It wasn't a real steak it was a burger patty made with ground beef... Wait but that is not the worst part of all, they served me raw ground beef... I asked for medium rare thinking it was a juicy steak and I got a raw burger patty with raw meat, which should never ever ever ever be served and yes I did get stomach sick to no ones surprise.Yes the steak was bland, no seasoning not even pepper, bad, and I was 100% cheated and scammed by this steak house. I only ate 1/4 of the burger patty because it tasted like old meat and cheap ground beef, I do not recommendIf you like to have good steak this is not the place, try another steak house. This will disappoint you and charge you more than you would like for the quality of the steak. The setting was great, dim lights, service was okay. One of the only things if not the best thing was the ambient music, it was noticble but not over powering where you need to talk loud to hear the person across from you.I had reservations, but still had to wait another further 10 minutes to be seated although the places was pretty empty. It is understandable.
We were seated in the bar area where the bartender was already stretched thin. People were crowded into the bar area literally inches from our table. We waited over 30 minutes for our fried zucchini appetizer (was meh) and had to actually ASK where it was. Another 30 minutes for a burger and a beef dip sandwich. I ordered a baked potato for my side. It was so mushy it was literally one step away from mashed potatoes. Drink refill were not consistent. Definitely not worth the steakhouse prices ($45) and the 2 hour dinner.
