Wonderful tour today at Achadinha Cheese Company, a family owned farm. Donna, the Mom and cheese maker is a wealth of knowledge and an entertaining tour guide. The cheese curds are delicious and so much better than others we have tried in California and possibly better than Wisconsin cheese curds. A shoutout to Sports Leisure Vacations for finding this hidden gem!

The first 45 minutes of the tour was about the history of the area and the farm (informative). We were all just standing around outside by the parking lot. Some of the children on the tour were getting antsy. Few seats, most were wet from condensation from the night before. Next, we went inside a building and walked past the cheese room, brief look, then headed to where they milk the cows. More info about milking and cheese process, standing, about 30 minutes. Then we proceeded to see the baby cows, then walked to the outdoor covered area to see the cows and goats which was only a few yards from the original meeting area. Next, they had samples of their cheese. Cheese was yummy. The cheese samples were pretty much what you get if you went to a farmer's market and got samples. They did not give any cheese to take home. Summation, 45 mins - 1 hour of history of the area, viewing the cows, and cheese samples. Although, I enjoyed looking at the animals and the host was informative, I would not recommend paying $40 for this tour.

We had no idea how wonderful the the tour and tasting of the cheeses would be and the Passion and knowledge that Donna know's. Also fun seeing all the animals around the farm too. Then getting to taste delicious cheeses paired with other goodies what a wonderful day we had Thank you to the Pacheco family

We visited Achadinha for a farm tour and highly recommend it. The tour was interesting and we got to learn about how their farm works and how cheese is made, as well as meet the animals and taste their delicious offerings. Wear boots/waterproof shoes!

I've done the Saturday cheese tour twice and it's really informative, fun, and the cheese/dairy samples at the end are always 10/10!

They charge $30 for "touring" the farm. However, all there is to see is a few sheep and some dairy cows.BE AWARE of the cows!! The cows have a disease and they don't tell the guests! When we asked about the cows' disease, all they said was it's ok, it's not contagious which is NOT completely true!Families go there with very young kids, the parents should be told about the diseased cows so they can decide whether it is safe for their children to pet the cows.

I work there

We toured the farm yesterday- it was soooo great! We listened to the history of the family & farm, saw where the cheese’s age, saw the milking stations, and then got to meet the cows and goats. There were 1-week old, baby cows! I’m sad we got to miss the birthing of a cows and a goat, which apparently last week’s group got to see live and in-person!!!! The cows were curious and friendly, and so were some of the goats.

The cheese curds are amazing! I picked some up today at the Martinez farmers market and now I wish I’d bought more! Took the gal at the booths suggestion and made some pasta and tossed the curds into it and it was beyond amazing! Planning on going back next weekend and getting more!
