Four of us had an awesome experience last Friday night at Jan’s 256. Our server, Alice was especially attentive to our needs and wants. Our meals were spot on as usual. Jan’s short ribs are the best in town and the fish and chips were perfection. Always enjoy being at 256.

We had a family getaway to Dillions Beach and decided to make the short drive to Petaluma for dinner. We are so glad we chose this restaurant. The atmosphere was great, service was first class and every meal was phenomenal. The owner was sitting at the table next to us and she would check on our food and even gave our girls some chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Overall this was just a very pleasant evening out & one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had as a family. Anytime we are in the area we will be coming back here to eat and I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for good food in Petaluma.

Excellent service. Terrific craft cocktails. Food was top notch and the fantasy cheesecake was amazing.

Drinks were very good, food was fine. We were there on a Saturday night after a local festival had just wrapped up. The dining room is just one big space and was crowded with several large groups. It was very loud. Our waitress encouraged us to relocate to the bar and it was a little bit quieter but certainly not an intimate dining experience!

Exceptional ! And delicious ! That's what I , call eating good in the neighborhood.I'll be back , and telling my friends and family ! For the price straight quality food ....and service I enjoyed a N.Y. steak and there mashed potatoes where out of this world ...thank you for experience ....LL KOOL RAY ?.

Fantastic fish and chips, the crunchy fried batter was excellent they have a nice batter situation on that fish, great french onion soup(best I've ever had), yummy cobb salad with nice greens and great bacon and I think some honey mustard based dressing that was also great. Loved the coleslaw with my fish and chips even though I don't usually like slaw. Great experience. My fiance got a pot pie and seafood pasta both were above average, though not quite excellent like my food was. 5 stars altogether though ?

Honestly while the cocktails are big they are not that good. The risotto was virtually flavorless and it was $3 extra for a single slice of overcooked bacon. Happy hour menu is decent but would probably only come here for beers and the cheesecakes from now on.

I loved the food, great service!

Delicious food and cocktails, clean establishment and cool ambiance! The staff is friendly too!

Place used to be better. Not sure what happened. Not sure if I would go again. I may give them another shot since they're usually better.
