My partner and I only had one night to spend in Paso Robles, and I'm glad we spent it at Taste in the Alley with Ray and Lee. Ray served us a variety of tastings, explaining each without intimidating us or insulting our intelligence. He made the wines accessible, and Ray supplemented Lee's descriptions of each wine with colorful (and very scientific) commentary. We had a lovely time and are taking our newfound knowledge of Central Coast wines back to Atlanta to impress all our friends.
Found this place wandering in an alley in Paso Robles. Evan was superb. I said what we like in red wines and he nailed it with every one. Amazing. Excellent experience with wine and knowledge galore. We will return.

We go a lot on how a place feels, not a great feeling or atmosphere here. It was $44 for two glasses of Syrah, plus tip. The owner is a sommelier, so he knows his stuff but is a little condescending about it. We are not wine hicks, as we travel all over the world which includes lots of wine. Our main issue? The atmosphere was a bit cold and uncomfortable, not conducive to sipping a glass with the late evening sun going down. The wine was good, therefore we give three stars. But we would not go back.
