I give most places 5 stars, but this place wasn't it. The food was very expensive, and the only vegan option was the top of one mushroom inside of a hamburger bun (that was $16!). There also weren't waiters, but a tip was expected. The only thing that was brought to us was our food. We had to get our own drinks, refills, silverware, napkins, and to-go box. The restaurant should have given us a tip lol. There were also three employees talking at the host station most of the time we were there, even though it was open seating. The beer was good though.
This place was great! The beer of course was what we went for and it was well worth it! My Wife and I both had micheladas and they were worth the drive! Just when you think it can’t get much better, the food comes! My Wife ordered wings and I got the tri tip pie. Let me tell you, both meals were delicious! I recommend either one and will definitely be coming back!
Awesome experience! Can't wait to come back, take a few more hours to grab something to eat and take a tour. We did bring home a Growler of UDBA. Semper Fi
Was looking forward to dining at the Taproom a second time and wasn’t disappointed. Got seated quickly on a busy Sunday outside with our pup. QR code dining and food and drinks arrived fast. Great beer selection and tasty food. Burger was excellent and my wife had the shrimp poorboy sandwich. Server’s working hard to satisfy you. Very clean as well.
Just off the highway, plenty of seating indoor and out, wide beer/drink selection, food was excellent...so 5 stars. I don't know if it's b/c of the waitstaff shortage or just because...however they have an ordering system where you don't engage with a server at all. You scan the QR code on your table (unique to your table) and it pulls up a menu to order from. It's not super straight forward (even for an online savvy person) but we once we place our order everything from there was smooth. Beer came right out followed shortly by our food. Note, you can also go inside and order from the counters (as I advised an older group of ladies to do who were clearly getting frustrated with the online menu). Down side is that all of the food came at once (including appetizer) so no 'courses' in the meal. Upside is that you've already paid and can just get up and leave when ready (good on road trips).
The pretzel with the cheese and mustard sauce was a delicious snack. Love this place. Only complaint is their employee was using the only working EV charging station. We stopped here on our way home just to get a charge and a snack while we waited. I even inquired about the one charger not working and she said her car was on the other charger but it wasn't working either (which it clearly was) Not cool!!
We had lunch at FW several years ago, and had a wonderful meal. They have went decidedly down hill since then. I had a hamburger that was so greasy it would not stay in the bun, very unappealing taste My wife had tacos which she said were not bad, but again they had grease dripping from the corn tortilla. I realize that since Covid things have changed, but their service was atrocious. We were seated and asked to order with our phones with a Q Reader which was fine. They serve your food, but they never return to check on the quality of your food or if you need anything further.
This is our second stop at the FW Tap Room. Enjoyed the paired down menu, previously there was way to much on the menu. I consider this gourmet pub food. Perfect to go with the newly acquired Cali Squeeze Blood Orange beer. The pretzel is a can’t miss, same for the fish tacos and the spinach goat cheese salad. Well done.
Went on the brewery tour. Our guide was Shandon. She was awesome and so knowledgeable. She answered every question and has a lot of enthusiasm for the products. It was interesting to see the facility and learn about their process. We enjoyed sampling different beers, some of which aren't available in stores. Such a great experience.
The spicy burger and fries alone was worth the 3-hr drive. The trip tip pie was fantastic, as well. The mid pie, however, was nothing to write home about. It tasted like it came from the freezer, so I'd stick to the entrees.
