What a fantastic neighborhood place. My girlfriend and I went in for sunday morning brunch. He had a wonderful little jazz trio playing. The food was incredible, the decor inside was beautiful. The staff was courteous and helpful. The prices were fair for the quality of food that you received. Wonderful place please go and enjoy.
The burger was amazing. Juicy, perfectly packed patty, bun was delicious, and the aioli complemented the burger brilliantly. I love how they utilize wine for cocktails. We had the Supernova, which was also excellent. The jazz while we ate was relaxing and the staff was very attentive. Highly recommend.
This place is beautiful, decor was well thought out and we felt like we weren't in CA. But on the day we visited was very busy, service was slow and it was really stuffy inside. We did understand they had just opened, so the are done kinks to work out. The food was great. I can only say good things about the steak, pork chop, burger and fries. We tried almost everything on the menu. Just some minor tweaks like high chairs for those with kiddos (although didn't seem very family friendly), some fresh air space either fans or windows open. The drinks were also really good.
Wanted to try this new place. Beautifily decorated, different but not too trendy. Friendly service, but they could use some training as far as dining flow. Food came, but menus and appetizer plates had not been cleared. We started with charcuterie plate which was good, but would have liked to see some small bread slices instead of crackers. We both enjoyed our mains, which I felt were high quality and a great value. It's a new place and they are working things out. We will be back in the near future!
Bartender needs training and they charge a credit card fee. Surprised if they last until the end of the year. No real alcohol either.
The George offers a simple, pleasant menu of well prepared food in a fantastic atmosphere with excellent service.
We really enjoyed The George jazz brunch. The jazz trio was great, service was friendly and personable, the food was delicious. I appreciate that, true to what they claim on their website, their stuff is European inspired - the biscuits w/ chicken was really tasty and not drowned in sauce, the steak and eggs was good, and we appreciate that they gave our elementary schooler with an adult Michelin-star grade palate a real steak knife.
Lovely addition to the neighborhood. East Pasadena is definitely a restaurant desert!Parking - street or gas station across (Vred)Reservations- recommendedHappy Hours 4-6pm in the bar and lounge onlyFood - came out quickly1. Shrimps cocktails2. PORK CHOP!!!!Service - understaffed and undertrained. Johnny and the owner lady were nice and professional. Noticed some wait time for guests while we were sitting at the lounge. The other servers seemed new so hopefully they will improve.
Went for brunch with friends and family, beautiful interior with excellent service. Rich and Christy set an amazing ambiance and are extremely welcoming. I had the lox on toast and the Wedge salad which were both divine. Word on the street is their burger is the best in town! Looking forward to trying it for dinner next time i'm in! Oh, and the Mimosa's are fire.
The food is fantastic, beer and wine selections on point, great cocktails, and the restaurant itself is totally gorgeous. I hope this is the new neighborhood mainstay
