Very good! The Oyakodon was very good. Something about their miso soup was much better than most places, or maybe I was just happy to have very delicious Japanese food. At night for dinner they turn into an izakaya with drinks and Japanese bar food, like yakitori, gyoza and karaage. And the Izakaya menu changes every night which is very cool. The staff was very nice too. Can't wait to go back.
We had a wonderful evening sharing many small plates among our party of 6. The service was attentive (my iced tea glass was refilled numerous times) and each plate was artfully arranged and had nice flavor combinations. My favorites were grilled squid, beef tongue, and chicken takoyaki. The hojicha iced tea was a refreshing compliment to the food.
Absolutely a place worth stopping over, the food is good and well prepared, the pricing is convenient and it is consistently well organized here. Keep it up.

Takuya Japanese Restaurant is probably one of the biggest perks of living down the street in the Old Bank District. The handrolls and sushi to-go is perfect and fresh every single time. I honestly cannot recommend one item over another - everything is delicious. The line can get pretty long during peak hours but the seats turn over pretty quick. A bonus is that I am usually in and out within 5 mins when I order to-go. They're that fast.
Call your order in ahead of time if you are in a hurry, but if you don’t, it’s worth the wait. Ordered the Pork Katsu and was in heaven when I got it home. Great serving size and great tasting. You won’t be disappointed.

Last week was the first time in this excellent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the efficient service, with the exceptional cuisine and booze and with the modest charge. We will surely go back there again.
Stay away if you order takeout from this place. While the food taste fine, the way they packed the food ruined the entire meal. I ordered a tofu udon. They packed all the udon, vegetable, tofu into one container. There is barely any soup broth. They might as well call it Yakiudon. My husband ordered the plate combo. The tamura and salad was put together into one takeout container. Needless to say all the tampura is soggy and squished. For $20. It is a very disappointing meal. Will not come back even if there is dine-in. Stay away!
