We had a terrific time at Sushi Roku. The food was great, but our server was outstanding. He even gave us a delicious dessert when he found out it was my birthday. We recommend with bells!
You can't go wrong with having a great dinner at Sushi Roku in Pasadena. The food is great and the ambience is warm and inviting. We always eat here either before or after a movie at the iPIC.
We hadn’t been here in a LONG time, my husband and I had our first date here and we both remember having a great time with great food and drinks, albeit pricey (about 10 years ago). But yikes has this place gotten VERY expensive but fell flat on quality, we have fined at many upscale sushi bars and don’t mind paying for A+ sushi, but this was not that, priced very high (presuming quality would be top notch) but it was not, it was very mediocre food. Our server seemed like he couldn’t care less that we were there or if we enjoyed our experience. We wanted some help with recommendations, and was not helpful. We ate uni (excellent), gensai roll (eh), some other mediocre roll, yellowtail chili app (eh), and spicy tuna hand roll (also meh), and a yellowtail hand roll (also meh). When it came time for dessert, we were definitely interested but I was still eating and said not at this moment (cuz I was eating) and then a few minutes later we were brought the check…. (??!!!!???) very disappointed, no acknowledgment of my husband birthday, we ended up having dessert up on Colorado at salt and straw which was the best thing about the night. VERY disappointed with Sushi Roku, won’t be coming back.
Having dined here before I was really excited for the sashimi but I was disappointed with the flavors.
In our opinion, Jiro is the best sushi chef we’ve ever known. He creates culinary magic! Dining with him omakase style is always a treat.
Over expensive food, food was just okay. Not much taste. Drinks was bad. Over charge. Noisy and service was so so.
