Always unique and flavorful! It's an adventure every time we go. They don't hold back on the samples because the flavor combinations are unorthodox like, but don't let that scare you!!! They know what they are doing. Come with an open mind, empty stomach, and (if you're lactose intolerant like me, WHICH SAYS SOMETHING IF I'M GOING TO GET ICE CREAM AND STILL WILL SUFFER AFTER) your lactate. ?
This place is very popular that they always have line. I just had my birthday celebration with my friend, and on my way to pick up my car. It happened that there was no line. I am not going to miss this chance. They allowed for sample with metal spoons. Very eco-friendly. Due to Covid, they created a hole on the customer a to drop the spoon in. I picked salted, melted chocolate shop cookie dough. The ice-cream was smooth and creamy. I like the taste of it as it was not overly sweet. Services was fast and friendly. I will come back for other flavors again!
Wow what hype and wow the prices. Came to $6 for a single scoop. I got the salted caramel one. It was very good. Super creamy and rich and the caramel was thick and gooey and exactly what I wanted. But $6 killed it for me. Also tried the cookie dough flavor and that was nothing special to me. Was too sweet and cold.
Love the interesting flavors and you can try different flavors before you commit! If you can’t choose you can split one scoop into two mini scoops of diff flavors!
This is my favorite ice cream place in the city. They have about 3-5 vegan options which rotate out every month. The staff are also very helpful when trying to find your perfect flavor and will offer you a sample without hesitation. Indoor seating is available but limited. It's the perfect place to grab a cone and walk up and down Colorado Blvd.
A cute ice cream place in old Pasadena that serves quality ice cream. They have variety of flavors that are not common which is what makes this place unique. The staff is nice and the service is great, they recommend to taste all flavors before ordering which is really good, thumbs up for maintaining hygiene. My wife got strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper and I ordered chocolate gooey brownie in a waffle cone. They make waffle cone fresh which adds up to the taste and freshness. Portions are generous and value for money, loved both flavors, if you are in the town, don’t miss out on this place.
This is really good cute place for amazing ice cream flavors. They also let you try flavors. I experimented with their Strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper and I am impressed. Although I couldn’t taste much of pepper but it was good to try something different. Staff is extremely friendly and takes your order pretty quickly to keep the line moving. Must visit if you are in old town Pasadena.
I love Salt & Straw! Their ice cream is definitely a must if you are in the area! They have a great variety of flavors and their staff always provides great customer service and recommendations.
Familiar with Salt & Straw since a trip to Portland in 2013, three visits in a week plus three to follow in Los Angeles and Venice, it was with “fanboy” status admitted that the new location in the Pasadena District was visited in late 2021, this season’s flavors not zany like those of Halloween or Thanksgiving but all impressive as usual.Still Southern California’s hippest place for a frozen treat, the location opened just before the pandemic larger than others, it was finding the place empty around 11:00am that tastes were had of classics as well as novelties before making tough choices, vegan “Pumpkin & Gingersnap Pie” losing out to Gingerbread Cookie Dough as dairy simply makes Ice Cream better.Additionally impressed by Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline, suffice it to say that even with stomach full there was still room for a scoop of Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache, its heterogeneity appreciable to anyone with a tongue while the flavor itself tastes like an old recipe passed down from generation to generation.
