Me and my Neighbors were all quarantined for 2 weeks due to COVID. We finally all tested negative. We love ethic foods so we decided to celebrate by visiting different restaurants. I wanted Malaysian/Singaporean food. We already celebrated going out to diner to a Thai Restaurant the previous night. So, we decided to do lunch. The Malaysian/Singaporean Restaurants that I used to go were all closed down due to COVID. Luckily, one of the neighbors is from Malaysia. She also could not locate the Malaysian Restaurants she used to go. This COVID did a number on these restaurants. She called around and asked her Malaysian/Singaporean friends. Two friends recommended QQ Kopitiam in Pasadena. So, we went. We live in Long Beach area. Pasadena is a good 50 minutes drive and we hit two accidents on the way. The restaurant is small. Parking is on the streets. However, the food is great. This is not a fancy restaurant but quite authentic. This is the kind of food you would get in the streets of Malaysia or Singapore. We ordered Singapore Laksa, Indonesian Fried Rice, Char Kway Teow, Hokkien Mee, Fried Tofu and Shrimp Egg Roll for a party of four. We also have 4 ice coffees and a lychee drink. We cleaned the plates. The food was that good. It is a long drive for us but we plan to go back. If anyone who wants to try South Eastern Asian Food. This is worth a trip to explore. Just be aware this is mostly a take-out restaurant. It would not be able to accommodate a large party.
Excellent and tasty singaporean and indonesian food. Their singaporean char kway teow (#11) and laksa (10) are really good. Price is very resonable and location is convenient across from Pasadena city college
Small mom n pop cafe with authentic singaporean n indonesian dishes.
The char kway teow here is very good. Flavorful and good portion size. They don't have actual cockles like in Malaysia, but it was fine. Spicy and salty with good sausages and noodles weren't soggy. They do charge extra if you ask them for no beansprouts though
We ordered the laksa and char koay teow. They were superb, very authentic Singaporean flavor and spice with the sambal chilli. Koay teow came with Lap Cheong which is super yummy. Laksa noodles was very fresh, no chemical smell and sauce was also using fresh coconut.Their Kopi-C is also very good. Highly recommended, coming from a Singaporean. We had the fried chicken wings as well, they were so-so.Amazing place, would return if I could.
I grew up in South East Asia, so Singaporean food is not a stranger to me. I'm really glad I live nearby this place! Such a lot of comforting food that they offer. The menu is traditional and typical Singaporean food, but you can taste that homemade quality. This is like my go-to lunch every time I'm missing my home country, especially during pandemics.I always get their Char Hor Fun, Laksa, and Mui Fun with a side of Kopi.Their coffee with condensed milk hits different from other coffee, but I guess I'm just reminiscing my memory. The owners are super nice and sweet, it's always been the husband and wife who work there.Street Parking is super easy, I always park on the street in front of the store. I recommend to order first by phone because sometimes they are taking a while.
This restaurant features tasty and cheap Singaporean cuisine! I didn't expect Singaporean dishes to be tasty. Highly recommended!
Great location for quality Singaporean food. had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again.
Authentic Singaporean food!! Thank you so much for being there for me
Fine spot for tasty Singaporean food. Great spot for an appetite of any size. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.
