My wife buys me cakes from here they are not you average cakes! Super creative. Not to sweet, but definitely pleasing to the pallet! Each one of the cakes has a unique flavor profile. My favorite was the Raspberry. Least favorite was the sesame chocolate. The matcha cake is very matcha forward, so if you love matcha I'd reccomend. It was a little too strong for my taste. The mango may be the sweetest of the cakes that I've tried, but it still pales in comparison to the swweness of your store bought cakes. The packaging is super creative, and the cake decoration is phenomenal! Totally recommend.
I came here without reading all the reviews about them being slow (my fault), so it took me by surprise when I had to wait 30 minutes to get 2 sandwiches. To be fair, the taste ain’t bad (the toast tasted a bit stale tho), just not worth the wait.I read in other reviews that their reason for being slow is that everything is “freshly made”, but tbh with the limited menu and on a not at all busy day, there is probably something wrong in the process if it takes 30 mins to make an egg salad sandwich.
To sum it up, this place is AMAZING! We found it while randomly scrolling through Instagram, and it looked interesting. Fast forward to the food, and it is amazing! It looked good and tasted even better! My friends and I had three different dishes, so we tried out a wide range of their menu. The cakes are amazing, the point where I didn't want to eat it because it looked so good. And finally I think I have become a fan of Honey Lavender Latte. Overall reasonably priced (I definitely can understand if it seems pricey from some people's point), clean, AMAZING FOOD, not too crowded (at least when we went) and very friendly staff. Highly recommend as a go-to spot when visiting LA.
The Egg Heaven sandwich and the Matcha Yuzu cake were delicious! Would definitely come back to try everything else!
Really slow and bad service. The cashier's attitude was also unnecessary. The food looks amazing, but the taste is average.
Workers really friendly, loved the vibe the place had brought. Tiramisu and Spanish latte were delicious! Def coming again.
This place is good. Desserts and egg sandwich were solid, but the real star was the honeycomb latte. I'd come back for that.
Parking in pasadena is difficult as always (at the shop). We took it to arlington garden to eat afterwards... short drive to the park but free parking and plenty of seats with shade. No weird bugs attacked us while eating. Afterwards, we drove down to lower arroyo park (free parking) for an adventurous hike under the freeway bridge.Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - guaca-mango sandwich felt buttery from the guacamole and the mango made it refreshing with the sweetness and slight tartness. Would definitely recommend! Okonomiyaki sandwich was savory and always enjoy the bonito flakes. It’s one sandwich sliced into three but the presentation was amazing. The matcha yuzu cake was great and really loved that it wasn’t too sweet. The two gold flakes were interesting but almost… plastic like when eatingAmbience: 5/5 - novelty shop with really cute packaging and presentation ideasService: 4/5 - greeted immediately and the cashier was pleasant. Told it would be about 5 minute wait but was closer to 15Value for price: 3/5 - can understand the cake price around $7 -$8 with the container but the sandwiches were a bit pricey at $10 - $13

When walking by, you might not notice the shop and, if you do, you might wonder what they are selling. But do go in and check it out! Pillow Talk is offering delightful pastries, presented in beautiful tin cans. The cake is fluffy. The flavors are fresh and natural. The sweetness level is about half that of traditional French pastries. Get these for a personal treat. These would be a spectacular end to a dinner with friends at home.
