They don’t take debit card, credit card, or any other form of payment besides CASH or PERSONAL CHECK. It was my first time here and I ordered a few burgers, some fries, and a shake; TO GO! Food came out fast. I tried to pay with my credit card because it was the only form of payment that I had on me. She politely informed me that they only accept cash or check and pointed to an ATM machine that they had strategically placed in the front of the restaurant. How convenient. They don’t accept debit or credit cards, but you can swipe your card at their ATM and pay them a $3.50 fee and another fee ($2 to $3) from your bank for a cash withdrawal from an “out of network” ATM. I saw right through this little setup so I decided to go somewhere else that accepts debit/credit cards as a form of payment. Being that it is 2022, my options were every other restaurant on the planet! I chose The COUNTER (in Pasadena off Lake Blvd)! And we all lived happily ever after. THE END.Moral of the story: If you go to Pie ‘n Burger, make sure you have plenty of cash or a check book! They do not accept any other form of payment.

Don't be fooled by the hipster typeface on the window, this is a real deal old school diner. The burgers and chips were perfect and ready in an astonishingly short time. There's a counter and tables, all in period brown Laminex, and endless coffee poured by the roving waitress. The pies were also awesome. We had the banana and the peanut butter and chocolate ones.

This is a great local spot and really takes you back to a real diner experience. We only has pie while we visited but the pie was great and so many different varieties. The experience of eating in a local diner is worth the trip. We loved coming and being part of this local spot. I

Nostalgia feeling mom and pop burger joint. Feels like out of 1960’s. Burger was juicy and has that homemade feel. Bit pricy. Sides ok

Fantastic atmosphere with great service to boot. There was a large order that came in right as I was sitting down, but my food still came out at a timely matter. Goes to show that the kitchen staff is on point. The hamburger was delicious, the pie was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot

Let me just say that the FOOD here is outstanding. This is a very tiny place with a counter a very few tables. This was our first visit - on a Saturday at lunchtime - so we were unsure what to expect. After some initial confusion about seating (some customers were directed to seat themselves and then ALL the customers decided to seat themselves which left us - and a couple other families who had been waiting to be seated - still waiting while they jumped the line) and a hostess who did not seem willing to crack a smile - we were seated at the counter. Our server (we think she was the owner’s daughter) was AMAZING. We had questions about the menu and she was incredibly patient. Once we ordered, it took less than ten minutes for our food to arrive. My husband and I split a Big Ben cheeseburger and fries. This burger was HUGE. It was also MESSY but delicious. Ask them to go easy on the Thousand Island dressing and you can probably pick up your burger and eat it like a civilized human being. We ate ours with a knife and fork - it did not change how DELICIOUS this burger was! Our son had the regular version of the same burger. He also had a chocolate shake - which was by far the highlight of his experience. We’re going back for breakfast!

Let me start by saying that the staff here is very friendly. From the cooks to the waitresses, you can tell everyone here enjoys their job and it shows in the quality of the food and the service. I came here and ordered the Chicken pot pie in the beginning of the year. It was delicious, great texture with the chicken and veggies and the crust was nice and crispy. Today I came in to watch the LA Rams vs 49ers for a bit and ordered a burger and fries. The burger was excellent and served with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Fries were perfectly cooked also. It is cash only but they have an ATM inside.

First time our server Denise was gentle lol,she was attentive efficient and friendly. The burgers were old school great the pie was bomb. As my Austrian cousin would say I'll be Back, no really it's that good and worth the journey!

The pie is AMAZING!!! They give plenty of whipped cream, so pay for ala mode. The burger and fries were good. Staff is attentive and friendly.
