(B-) :The wait was long, the food was ok, but a lot of sweet sauce on almost everything. They have one whole fish on the menu and they were out (6:45pm!!) Poor inventory management? I liked the Black Cod, although (very small though like 1 oz maybe?) it would have been much better without the sweet sauce covering it up, I scraped it off and it was smooth and buttery. The mac & cheese in the Hamburg Bento box was awful. The"Hamburg"Near was more like meatball meat and seemed like boiled or baked or maybe sous vide meat, I'll pass on it next time. The Dicon salad was refreshing.

Excellent food but super pricey. Each dish was made with ultra fresh ingredients. Best to call and make reservations. Family and I need to wait for an hour to dine outside. We started w mizuna & daikon salad, then dragon roll, unagi roll and assorted sushi. Wagyu beef sushi was superb. Then ended with creme brulee & sakura flower petal jello. Dinner is worth the go once a year!

Omg. This place is amazing. The quality of the food is fantastic. I had the miso cod bento box and it was so buttery and flaky. I also had a blue crab hand roll and it melted in my mouth. For desert, we shared the Matcha! Matcha!! Matcha!!! It's a matcha soufflé with matcha cream and a scoop of matcha ice cream. I was in heaven! I was only sad because we shared it and I wanted the whole thing to myself. The desert portions are small so make sure you save room.

Very good service and great food. Sushi is fresh and presented well. It is a little pricey but worth it for a splurge.

First time omakase experience here and it was delish!Pricey but was worth it. Too bad I went during covid so you weren’t able to sit near the chefs and interact with them. The Mio sparkling sake was really nice as well.

We ordered omakase $60 for 12 pieces and it came with a bowl of miso soup. Different from other omakase we had before, they came all at once. It’s a busy place with lots of other options on menu. Will come back for more. Do make a reservation if can to avoid waiting in line as they are one of the busiest place in Pasadena!

We ordered takeout (curbside delivery) at 5:40 pm for 8 items (4 were sushi orders which were only 2 pieces each), was promised pick up would be ready at 6:35. Arrived at 6:32 and watched the guest with the takeout number right before ours got their takeout delivered curbside at 6:35. Waited in the car and watched three other unrelated guests receive their takeout orders. Every time the server passed our car on his way to deliver the other takeouts, he kept reassuring us that ours was coming right away but that didn't happen. We finally received our takeout order at 7:05 pm...Worst takeout experience.

I came in the lunchtime on Saturday by myself. I expected them having better service. Nobody told me they had lunch menu and after I ordered individual sushi pieces costs $50, a server put the QR code menu without saying anything that describes lunch menu which is way more affordable than ordering individuals. I realized it after ate my order. They seemed so busy but nobody said thank you or good bye when I was leaving. The taste was so so. I am honestly disappointed.

Best sushi

Friendly staff and delicious food. Portions are reasonable. The only thing I didn't like was the salmon skin hand roll, which was a little dry.
