Just left this place after having a Classic Jake burger Fries and a beer and I could not have been happier. The burger was juicy and fresh as were the toppings. The Jake sauce was great and the fries were well done exactly how they should be, not overcooked just well done, not too oily or salty. The Trustworthy Beer hit the spot. High ABV and smooth taste and finish. An amazingly easy IPA to drink, even my wife liked it. Can't wait to come back here again and try the rest of the menu including the milk shakes!
Update; no fries. Nothing on burgers but onions and pickles. So, for over $20 I get two burgers with a few onions and pickles? Worst value in Pasadena. No wonder the place was empty!Sad, came in 30 mins before close. And the cook would only take burger orders. Really wanted a dog. Maybe clarify your hours? This after touting the place to a coworker in parsons building, won't be doing that any more when service is not clear. Don't need my reputation tied to a cook who wants to get out early. Sad!Love their burgers, people friendly and great locationKnocked front 5 to 3 stars, dropped to one star after opening my order.Won't be back.Amazing how far and fast you fell
Very disappointing. Came here on my lunch break and ordered the sliders. Took more than 15 minutes even though I was the only person in the place. When they finally arrived, there was an almost comically small amount of meat. I mean, each slider had a tiny (and overcooked) football shaped patty that barely took up 50% of bun space. I got multiple bites that were just bun and sauce. That might have been tolerable if I hadn't spent almost $11 for that order. Absolutely will not be coming back. Not trustworthy at all. No wonder the place was empty.
Really good signature burger.
Went to Jake’s Burger joint in Pasadena. My friends and I were visiting the area, and heard that Jake’s is a destination place. When we arrived, there was a miscommunication between my friend and I that resulted in her ordering to go, and myself ordering to stay. Then the cashier taking my order was so rude, lecturing me as I ordered “for here” and he got frustrated with me because he said my friend ordered to go. He then lectured me about wasting supplies, which I can understand is an expense for a business. However, he could have suggested in a less aggressive way to opt for here. The exchange was very much uncomfortable. Then when brought out our orders, my friend and I said thank you, showing appreciation. He completely ignored that, and slammed the trays down and walked away. It made us feel uncomfortable and like we didn’t belong there. We felt very othered, especially as 3 people of color. This is the last time we will ever go here because the disrespect really leaves an abhorrent aftertaste after the mediocre meal.
Awesome burger and onion rings! I can definitely recommend the Classic 1947 Burger, onion rings, and a strawberry shake. Chipper and Andrew have a classic hit here and it's well worth the stop. Friendly diner atmosphere, and we got our food quickly.
The food is really good, but the friendly staff, such as Vanessa and Mia, make this place an amazing one..
Food takes forever. I haven’t eaten it yet but at this point it doesn’t matter how good it is. 35min wait, still not ready. Ok it arrived, hotdog is terrible, onion rings average at best, chicken burger not bad.
Good burgers reasonable prices
The lunch was disappointing. My sliders and french fries were tepid, at best, when I got them. The food has the potential to be good, but I'll probably never know because I don't have any intention of going back.
