This has quickly become a regular spot for us and friends. We go several times a month. The potato tacos are a MUST and I really enjoy the Frito Chili Pie as well. Menu is pretty simple but solid which is great. What they do, they do well. Their outdoor sitting area is wonderful and a great place to enjoy a Margherita or a cold beer with your food.

Very good place to eat.. Has a lot of gluten free options. The staff is incredibly nice and the food is excellent.. Highly recommend this place to eat.

Over rated, had the Texas Toast with Brisket. The Texas toast was soggy, only toasted on one side, should be both to have a sturdy sandwich. Not that good. Great customer service tho.

Good news spot in the area for Tex/Mex style food. Surprising amount of parking. Staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. The brisket had a nice smokey flavor. The green sauce was hot enough for my tastes. The queso was good, but not rave worthy.

New location in Pasadena (just across from John Muir).... Fast food / Tex-Mex comfort and casual atmosphere. Very friendly staff and very clean (sanitary) restaurant. Really nice spot to meet up with friends for drinks, guacamole and chips (and some tasty tacos).

Had the beef Frito pie. Never had one before, but thought it needed more of the toppings. Overall taste was good though. Didn't finish black bean taco, way too gummy and lacked flavor. IMO needed acid and salt.

Parking lot is great. Staff is really nice. Food itself is extremely subpar. Super bland anytime tacos and Texas roast sandwich . (Got the picadillo and chicken). Vibes are cute though.

Dedicated parking lot if youdon’t look up- they have a large billboard. Entrance to the restaurant and lot has black gates up front.Kind of tight fitting so we parked right outside for street parking.Food was delicious!Tacos are big- I ordered 2 and only ate 1.5 along the chips & dip. You can never go wrong with the chips & dip- it’s a must!! Plus unlimited chips so get the large size dip!Nice assortment of teas, coffee, and boozy drinks! I will come back for lunch or dinner to get their slushy Maragarita or Paloma! Looks amazingLots of outdoor seating! With heat lamps and umbrellas!!Service is beyond amazing! When we went, there as a great guy who was super friendly and quick! As of 12/27/21- they don’t have indoor seating and check for verification of vaccination.

Texas chain taco restaurant located at the former Lincoln bakery / restaurant building.Nice seating outside. Service is great and staff are friendly and the space is kept clean. The food itself is meh.. basically denatured Mexican inspired food for white taste palates. Los Angeles has a wealth of excellent authentic Mexican and South American food choices - so if you know and have eaten such fare - this will not do it for you.Though, from the franchise perspective this chain is squarely aimed at the white hipster demographic who don't want anything too spicy. Whoever was in charge of the music clearly didn't get the intended demographic (destiny's child and similar tunes) aren't on message. (Cough: Wilco)

I just had the worst experience at HomeState - we love this place but unfortunately went there today and due to COVID they are requiring everyone to show VAX cards - Even to sit outside - be forewarned. They have closed the indoor seating and still required proof of VAX even for outdoor seating. We had just returned from a new-years eve hike and our kids 12, 13, 17, 20 did not have their cards with them (why would they?) and my wife and I had left our phones in the car (trying to be good examples to our children). They were rude when I asked about the regulation for outdoor seating and VAX requirements - which I have since researched and does not exist!I said we could show VAX for those with phones and that we were all vaccinated but we were not allowed to stay given not everyone had VAX cards. I get people trying to be safe with the variant but this is extreme - a location with outdoor seating and a party willing to show VAX cards for those over 18 were still turned away. I'm sure our total spend would have been close to.$150 with drinks so I guess their loss but as a fully Vaccinated Pasadena resident I will not be returning to this establishment. Requiring such proof to sit outside with younger children is ridiculous and if they are that fearful for their staff and patrons they should simply close their doors. Don't worry HomeState I won't be brining any COVID risk or future patronage to your locations.
