Got their koobideh (beef) and tahdig. It was good. The koobideh could be more tender but overall, i recommend this place.
Good traditional Persian fare. I would try again as a take out option as the dine in experience was lacking. Good flavors in the lamb and chicken koobideh, although a bit greasy. Albaloo pollo was good but not great. Persian tea was very good but they had no baklava.
The service was good and the soup was very good. However, my steak skewer had was dripping with oil. The rice also had a lot of oil. Also a little pricey for wha it is.
So cozy with large portions and really kind owners. Tastes just like home cooking, absolutely loved it
The spicy chicken koobideh was *chef's kiss* DELICIOUS and so delightfully unique I will buy again just for that dish. The meats were tender and well cooked and flavorful. The rice though was a little wet (?) But otherwise everything was delicious and great for takeout.
Very delicious and huge portions. My and my family loved. We are satisfied.
The chef is not a good one, very uncooked food with a very low costumer service level. I'm sorry to waste my time going there. I ordered the food it was uncooked inside, the rack of lamb. They said we'll cook it more for you, when it came out it was burned. I asked the owner, and he said why don't you eat something else. I only like rack of lamb, and they didn't provide me with another cooked normal one.
Heidar Baba Persian grill is a staple of the Pasadena community, having served the people delicious eats for decades. If its your first time there I would recommend the Soltani Kabob, one skewer of ground beef and one skewer of beef fillet (ask for MEDIUM to keep it juicy, fillet should never be prepared well done). It comes with rice but you can do half salad which i enjoy greatly. This might be off brand for someone looking for an authentic middle eastern culinary experience, but the Hamburger is a surprise hit as well.Don't forget to order Mast Moosir (yogurt with shallots) with your kabobs, and finish off your meal with some Persian black tea.
This restaurant has been a go-to place for me in the past few years, before and during the pandemic. Recently, their food quality has deteriorated and their delivery packaging has been sloppy. I can't remember any recent delivery without spills. I sincerely hope they pay attention to their service and restore its quality.
Went here two years ago for lunch and loved it. This time we came for dinner, it did not disappoint!
