We had what felt like our own patio to enjoy! Terrific.
Not very busy but service was exceptionally slow. We had to ask for our waiter several times, despite being one of two small groups (party of 4) in our section.
delightful old southwest feel, like going back in time in a good way
One of my all time favorite restaurants!
This was Father's Day, so not a regular time at El Cholo. My reservation was honored promptly and chips/salsa while waiting was good. I had the vegetarian tostada and it was very good. Service was fine - orders taken promptly after my entire party arrived, and food came out quickly. Overall a very satisfying experience.
The food was really not hot at all and the service was slow, seemed to be overwhelmed. Sent green Corn Tamales back to make them hotter and they did that but the rest of the food was disappointing at a restaurant that is a long time favorite.
The host staff was great. This is the only reason I put service as 2 stars. Took 10 minutes for waitress to greet us. 40 min for OT food to come out COLD (how fajitas come out cold is a winner to me). And another 30 off waiting for waitress to return to give us a check. We ended up having to visit the host booth to check out. Order a Margarita which was strong but very warm. Was very surprised with me first sip of warm tequila. We notified host staff and waitress of our concerns and still paid for the whole check. Never again. Even with all the mosquitoes and bugs inside, Iâd consider it an off day if the food was at least decent but that was tasteless.
Great place for a Father's day dinner!
Very nice lunch with friends on the patio. ***********
This was our second visit to this restaurant. I think we chose our food rather unwisely as we did not enjoy the experience nearly as much as the first time. One of our number had a violent reaction to one of the dishes. That said, the restaurant is pleasant and the service great.
