I visited this Chado so many times and the staff here are all attentive and professional. Make sure you have a reservation around 1-2 days prior for weekends since it does get busy and I have seen customers get turned away for no reservations. It’s a cute spot for tea time with your friends and family and I highly recommend their plain scones with strawberries and chado cream.

we got the chado afternoon tea service. I liked the wide tea selection and the sandwiches were tasty but dessert was lackluster and the scones were super dry and hard even though we ate them right away while they were still warm as suggested :(

Very below average high tea experience.I’ve had a fair amount of high tea across different cities and this was far the worst experience.Food - the tea sanwhich were decent but nothing special. The salmon on the sanwhich was not fresh and smelly. Scones were ok but all tasted the same. The variety and type of food served was highly disappointing as it really was so basic. Dips were chocolate or whipped cream with strawberry. It’s only filling if you eat the scones. We got 2 tea, one fruity and one more savory. Tea were better than the food itself.Price - overpriced. If you’re sharing, there’s a sharing fee, everyone needs to get their own food. $25+ for one serving of high tea which is so basic.Ambiance - antique vibe with a lot of carpet. Smells old and outdated.Service - nice sever but slow and inattentive. Very average. There was one or maybe 2 other parties on a Saturday late afternoon and they didn’t check in on us. We had to call them for assistance.Would not recommend and would not be back.Cleanliness - bad. The seating area is decent but smells funky. The way to the bathroom is their open kitchen and tea bar and wow, it smelled like vomit. The bathroom was dirty and unkept. We were still finding our food and they were cleaning 30 minutes before closing time, making us inhale cleaning supplies

Popped in for a snack and we were pleased on multiple levels. Hearty portions to price, delicious food that left us feeling light and healthy and service was top notch. We had the hibiscus tea and chicken sandwich. We will come back again.

Awesome place for hi tea! They have indoor and some outdoor dining areas. (Outdoor area is temporary not sure till when it will be allowed) The servers were very helpful and attentive to us. We didn't find out till after but they also can do afternoon tea for kids. Next time we go we will do that for sure as our son would enjoy that more. They have a ton of nice tea pots and they sell their tea leaves if you want to buy it to make it at home.

Came here for the afternoon tea and I love the environment. The price is reasonable and great value for money. High tea for $20~/person is not easy to find nowadays, and this place is located in the core of Pasadena with great service and atmosphere.

Atmosphere: 10/10Service: 7/10Food: 1/10Tea: 9/10The atmosphere is really nice and cozy and service although slow was still nice and very friendly! They have a good selection of teas but the food for the afternoon tea is surprisingly bad. The bread for the sandwiches were really dry like they were made way before and sitting out for a while. None of the sandwiches were seasoned with anything but the scones and clotted cream were good. Also sometimes you find one dish with a stain when you go out to eat, no big deal it happens, but here almost all of our dishes and teacups had dried food crust or what looked like lipstick stains on them.If you go, get their desserts but not their sandwiches! So many tables around us left with their sandwiches untouched.

Got the afternoon tea set and was very disappointed with the food. Sandwiches were dry and bland. The scone was only good while warm and the dishes and cups and silverware were a bit dirty. The only positive was the tea and the clouded cream. Would not recommend.

The tea and food were OK, the scones stood out from everything else. We ordered 4 lunch services and 2 extra whole sandwich plates. My step kid was hungry and I didn't know if she would like what came with the tea service. We ordered tomatoe soup for a starter and even my picky step kid loved it and took over mine???‍♀️??‍♀️ she ate almost all of everyone's cookies, so I think they were a hit. The sandwiches the tea service came with were mediocre. The tea itself was delicious and arrived in cute tea pots with a ceramic holder. The reason for 3 stars is the service. It is unclear from arriving where you are suppose to go to get seated. I tried asking and was ignored. Because we arrived earlier than the rest of our party we weren't asked if we'd like anything while waiting. The rest of our party arrived and 10+ min later we had to flag someone down. It took a long while to get our food and tea. During the entire time, we weren't approached asking if we needed anything but the tables around us were constantly being waited on. One of the servers did bring out delicious iced tea for my aunt's birthday but overall service was very lacking. For the prices they charge, I expected much better service.

We stumbled upon this tea room with the intention of having lunch at another restaurant on the same block. We're so glad we did as we had a very pleasant experience here with the Celebration afternoon tea. This included a salad/soup starter, a flute of champagne-inspired tea, chocolates, sandwiches, scones, jam, cream, cookie and macaron along with a pot of tea. The staff was incredibly welcoming and sincere and made our visit here very enjoyable. They brought out complimentary ice cream and sang happy birthday for my sister's birthday celebration, which was much appreciated. This is a great place for a variety of occasions, including birthday or milestone celebrations, family gatherings or a romantic date. This tea room is also great for tea lovers as they have over 400 tea selections! This was our first time here and we'll definitely visit again.
