I found Zadna Bowl by accident while walking around University Ave in the downtown area. It’s a small place with options to create your own bowl of Middle Eastern goodness. I had chicken kabobs, falafel over rice, Israeli salad, tabbouleh, eggplant, cauliflower, tzatziki sauce, with sumac and parsley sprinkled on top.The husband and wife owners are Jordanian and they have two locations -one in Palo Alto and the other in Redwood City.Growing up in a home where Middle Eastern food was made fresh daily, this place reminded me of my moms dishes. Authentic, flavorful and fresh. The owner was kind, friendly and overly generous with servings. Great place for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.

Absolutely amazing food and incredible service, but the hours are SO UNRELIABLE! Went on a Friday afternoon and despite the sign and hours saying they're open, the doors were locked and lights out. I spent all morning waiting for them to open. Amazing place, but I'm never able to go because of their weird hours.Edit: tried coming back the next day. How do they not open until 4:30 on a Saturday? While keeping a "come in we're open" sign outside? So frustrating, I don't even want to come here anymore. A shame because their food and prices are good

Came here with friends a few weeks ago. The helpfulness of the staff (owners, I assume) was off the charts.Portions are generously sized and taste great. Standouts where they went above and beyond:- I asked for a spoon. They didn't have any plastic ones, and they fetched one from the kitchen for me.- we were offered cups of chai (also excellent tasting) out of the blue

Finally! A budget friendly, delicious, large portion sized food option in Palo Alto! Really good Mediterranean food. Folks working there are super nice. There is outdoor public seating across the street, so it’s fun to grab food and people watch.

These folks are the best. Excellent flavors, fantastic service. They also cater and have done two birthdays for us.

I lived in the Midwest near Dearborn Michigan; the city with the best middle eastern food in the US. This place reminds me of Dearborn food. Food taste fresh, the portion was generous, staff was great and the environment is clean.

Great flavors and large portions! I got fries base with lamb and chicken on top and everything tasted so fresh! Vegetables were good too, with a healthy helping of garlic sauce and hummus on top. Service was a bit slow because they were busy, but the staff was nice and took there time to properly make my bowl. I had enough food for 1.5 meals after adding a bunch of topping, all for a very affordable price. Would come back again

Family-owned counter-serve restaurant with massive portions, fried to order falafel, and delicious chai on the house. Very fresh and flavorful! One bowl and two sides was more than enough for two. Will be coming back.

Great spot as a quick stop for eats after a day n in wine country. NY steak according to my preferred sear. Strawberry melon gazpacho fittingly add to the summer menu. Drunken chicken didn’t disappoint and so did the shrimp Cajun. Will definitely hit this place again when in the area

Can't recommend Zadna Bowl enough. Large portions, delicious food, nicest staff. Perfect to go food.
