A wonderful pizzeria in Palo Alto, right off El Camino. It’s themed around all things Chicago and is known for its deep dish pizzas. They have a number of options for vegetarians and you can customize your pizza to be half and half. A 10 inch pizza can feed one very hungry person. Portions are generous and service is quick.Really liked the ‘sears tower’ pizza which is their signature veggie pizza. It contains a nice blend of vegetables like zucchini, olives, capsicums etc and has a crunchy cheesy crust. We also got the white Sox pizza which is a Delicious combination of white sauce, cheese and sun dried tomatoes. I didn’t ask if it’s halal but will definitely return for vegetarian pizzas.
Lunch after our hike! 1 1/2 pieces of combination pizza and a giant glass of iced tea! Hit the spot.Great food, nice atmosphere, and a VERY friendly waiter (didn't catch his name--sorry!). Couldn't ask for a better respite after a two-hour hike!
Pizza was good, but too pricey for what you get. My partner and I were expecting classic Chicago-style deep dish pizza, and instead received what was basically a domino’s pan pizza. Very much not the same thing. Like I said, it was tasty and I’m sure the ingredients are higher quality than domino’s, but it was definitely disappointing for two people who grew up in Chicago. Don’t call it Chicago deep dish if that’s not what you’re going to serve.
Calling ahead of time helps when dining in, unless you don’t mind waiting 40 mins for your order. The ambience and atmosphere is comfortable that you wouldn’t know how long you’ve actually been there. Eat 2-2.5 slices of pizza, to leave room for their desserts because they are delicious!! Everyone is very attentive and friendly… it feels like home, coming from a Chicago native.
I got the fridge and calamari. The pizza was fine but a little bit pricey. The calamari looked really nice but had a bitter aftertaste.
Just like many other people have commented, the change of dough since moving to the new location has ruined what was once a great deep dish pizza. It’s now just a fat flavorless bread pizza, yuk
We came in with a large group (20+) after the Stanford game. They were great and the pizza was delicious!
Nice staff men's I will Have too go get some pizza ?
I'm a big pizza fan and this is the best pizza I have ever eaten, I cannot stress this enough, if you are nearby it is well worth it.
I grew up in the City of Chicago and lived there for 28 years. Pizza was a part of the culture and there were many great places to explore, all with their own following. The misconception around the country is that all Chicago pizza is deep dish and while it may have originated there, most pizza is of the thinner crust variety. That being said, I've had some great deep dish pizzas while living there and Pizza Chicago is about as close as you can get in preparation, style and taste, offering up a variety named after Chicago locations and celebrities and carries a level of nostalgia every time we order from them (about once every 2-3 weeks). My preference is simply sausage and cheese. The sausage tastes like it came from Chicago, the sauce and cheese is really good and it's baked to come out a bit crunchy on the bottom and on the outer crust, which is how I like it. We also regularly order the Chicago Fire which comes with sausage, fresh cilantro, garlic and chopped sport peppers. We ask for the sport peppers on the side (they're a bit vinegary and hot) and have them add onion to the pizza. It's a great combination. The salads are also pretty good. If you're a deep dish fan, you won't be disappointed.
