Mostly good however server was notified that one of the tables was wobbly and she did nothing about it. Also fish was overcooked. I expect overall quality to be better in a restaurant like this and it usually is.

Another great dinner with delicious food. The service was terrific and the restaurant is always our best choice.

Had a very nice meal before the show at the Stanford Theater. Service great, wine great, minestrone soup great. Will be back.

While the food was very good, what really made the evening special for me was the waiter, who was so friendly and kind. He gave us a free dessert when the soup didn’t come before the meal. He was so charming!

Great food, energy and ambiance. Staff shortages which are universal are only challenge. Be patient and tip lavishly is the best Post pandemic advice!

Il Fornaio, Palo Alto is always a great place to dine. The food is delicious and nicely presented. Our special server Mario is incredible and we look forward to him taking care of us. Always a fun experience we look forward to. You can't go wrong!!

Delicious and authentically Italian. We had Caesar salad, mixed seafood grill and cannoli this time. Choices are sublime. Better in every way compared to the big new and expensive Italian experience farther down the Peninsula.

My husband and I both ordered the rib-eye cooked just under medium rare. His was done properly; mine was very rare. They did offer to cook it more. It came back cooked properly but as a totally separate piece (two smaller pieces rather than one larger piece), I asked for the roasted potatoes (rather than mashed) and they were way over cooked to the point of being overly crisp and dry. And the price was, in my opinion, excessive at $45. We have been there before, and we probably will go back, but I definitely will not order a steak. All in all the service was good, but I will rethink my order in the future.

The food was not tasty. The only thing that was good was the bruschetta appetizer. The server was attentive but not friendly. Will not visit again.

This is the original Il Fornaio, and in my opinion, and I enjoy them all, the best. It is a beautiful building just off University Ave in Palo Alto, away from the student bustle. We were greeted nicely upon arrival, and shown immediately to our table. Waitress was excellent, good personality, and attentive. Food was delicious, although the menu has been cut back from prior visits (miss the veal). I had an excellent NY steak, and my companion, who is vegan, enjoyed the pasta pomodoro. Il Fornaio, during the month of July 2022, waived the corkage fee, so we brought an outstanding Zinfandel. All-in-all we had a wonderful time.
