It's been a while since we dined here due to the pandemic but it was delicious as always. Great environment and wonderful team. The Chef even brought out the food himself which was a nice touch. The rest of the staff was most personable and efficient We would recommend this restaurant with no hesitation and we will be back again!!!
Very pleasant to be outdoors sipping Prosecco next to a fountain on a warm summer evening. Service was a little slow considering only about 6 table were occupied, but wait staff was engaging and Citrus Salad and Salmon were delicious.
Highly recommended for its beautiful ambiance and delicious food with very fair prices. The BEST Lobster Ravioli!!! Riace Salmon was also absolutely delicious.Unfortunately last night, I didn’t have great experience from my server. She wasn’t having a welcoming attitude and She didn’t bother to check on my table not even once although the restaurant wasn’t busy and towards the end my table was the only table with customers. The server was having dinner as well across from our table and I requested for a warmer coffee because it was literally cold. Then a different server brought the coffee at the same cup and it literally had a few sips on it! Not sure what happened with the rest of coffee. I didn’t ask again because she was busy eating her dinner. Just disappointed on the service.
Seemed understaffed. Different staff over the course of the meal. When I made the reservation I wrote we were celebrating two birthdays. When we got to the restaurant I told them again. Never acknowledged or offered even a scoop of ice cream! Did notice that another table got a piece of cheesecake with a candle in it. Beautiful patio area for dining.
The food was excellent---all the dishes we had; pasta, fish, chicken were tasty and full of seafood, vegetables and flavors. Glad to see it was really busy! But, due to pandemic short-staffing, there were some bumps in the service. The ambience and food and friendliness made up for that.
Caffe Riace has a unique patio surrounded by plants, Italian art and sits in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks away from busy California Street. Itâs an oasis! Most outdoor restaurants are curbside with parked cars and traffic driving by⦠not this beautiful enclosed Italian patio. The food is delicious! I learned that the produce and eggs for my pasta dish are sourced from their own organic farm. Amazing! Highly recommend for a simple evening out or a special occasion. Weâve been enjoying Caffe Riace for years!
Delicious variety of flavors in the food; great service; lovely spot.
I mean, having been in an out of prison most my life, I would say the food was better at cafe Riace. That said the customer service is significantly better at San Quentin State Penitentiary, at least based on my experience. So it's a bit of a toss up between the two.
I have been going to Caffe Riaci off and on since it opened. Early on it was the best Italian food in this area, and the restaurant was always busy. This was when the ownerâs wife was chef. She made wonderful dishes both standard Sicilian and other creative wonders. Then the quality went down for a period, but it came back after a short while to being very good again. Over the last 2-3 years quality has varied but last nightâs dinner was magically great again. I applaud the new chef and the staff for making Caffe Riaci a beautiful place to dine or lunch again. Really impressive with wait staff who know how to look after customers. Hurray! Hurray! Caffe Riaci is terrific.
Lovely outdoor setting. Good, reliable food. Service was great when the place was busy then we couldnât get anyoneâs attention later in the meal - maybe short on stage? Always a fun outing.
