Great food, good thoughtful service for our special occasion.

they took so long to bring the food that we lost our appetite

Can’t believe I brought my dad here on Father’s Day.. the waiter we had was polite but then proceeded to tell us they are training a new cook the night of Father’s Day and if we had any issues to let him know. I ordered an old fashioned cocktail and it came out after the appetizers because the “bar was backed up” two of the tables near us complained about cold food and the temperature was so hot upstairs customers were walking out after ordering drinks because of how uncomfortable it was.. I honestly wish I could get a refund to take my dad out to real restaurant, how pathetic.

Despite having reservations, we waited outside for 15 minutes with no one coming to help us. Had to walk in and track down someone who appeared to be the host/everything else. We finally were seated and waited over 30 minutes at the table with no waitstaff coming to even greet us or bring us water. We ended up leaving since we waited so long with no one paying any attention to us. We walked down to Nola’s, got on their waiting list quickly, and once we were seated, we had excellent service and food.

Centrally located near University Drive, in Palo Alto, this was a quaint but strange Italian Restaurant. We entered the restaurant, through the kitchen, into a wonderfully decorated nostalgic restaurant. We had quite a large party, so we ordered a variety of dishes to eat. The fried calamari was to DIE for!! The Alfredo and Brussel sprouts salad, were a little dry, but all of the other dishes were tasty.

As always, portions generous, flavor good. Service availablve but non-intrusive.

Took our Italian Nana out for a late lunch. Appetizer trio of fried mozzarella, calamari, and spicy shrimp was delicious and HUGE. We also had eggplant, raviolis and chicken. Too much food - but we were able to send her home with lots of leftovers : ) Restaurant was very quiet and staff were very helpful and friendly. Very helpful that they could provide handicapped accessible table for us. Our server, was especially helpful with whatever we needed. A successful outing. Also would be a great spot for families or a large group.

We seared ourselves outside for lunch, saw very few customers….no one else outside. Our server tried his best, but it was his first day. I ordered eggplant Parmesan, which was good. However, side that I had with it “Romano broccoli ? “ was not good - waaaay too spicy and I just didn’t care for seasoning.

I ordered this past Saturday for a 50th Bday Party (for 20+ guests) and could not be happier with the food, pricing and service. From end-to-end, Rich worked with me to customize the menu, meet my budget and ensure that the food arrived timely and warm. I had never eaten at Buca but went with it because the bday boy wanted Italian food and several friends recommended it to me but, recognizing it is a chain restaurant, I had some reservations. After eating the food and receiving rave reviews from the guests (who all went back for seconds), I can confirm the food was delicious. Based on this experience, I recommend Buca without reservation and, without a doubt, plan to order from Buca for future events. I do recommend working with Rich directly as his attention to detail is unparalleled. Despite that he is very clearly busy, he made me feel like my event was the most important thing on his plate and over-delivered on my very high expectations. A+

It took 1 hr to appetizers arrived service was too slow it although wasn’t a busy day,I had the worst lasagne I’ve ever eaten. We cant even eat the second entry ‘chicken canoli’ it has funny smell.
