We have been to this restaurant a handful of times, and most times it has been an enjoyable experience. The food is good, typically the service is decent, and there is usually a good show from the cook. The show is part of what you pay for when you come to a place like this with 5 kids.Tonight, however, we did not get any bot of a show from our cook. I had asked for a few accommodations to our meals. Between the 7 of us, we split 4 meals. I asked him for how we needed things made and divided before he even started cooking. I still had to walk around and make sure everything went on the correct plates. And I had to cancel the side order of tempura because we were all done before it was ever even close to ready.For 4 meals (1 adult, 3 kids), 4 kids drinks, and 3 adult beverages they charged us over $175 plus the added tip. They also charged us for a party of 8 instead of 7 which made the tip even more. I understand the prices when service is adequate. You pay that price for the experience. If we didn't want the experience, we would have ordered take out, or eaten somewhere else. But what was really frustrating was the response from who we assumed are the owners. All we got was "sorry, we are busy." Nothing at all to make up for the lack of service/experience. I understand they were busy... it is mothers day. But every other cook gave an amazing show, and my kids had to watch from afar waiting for our turn that never came, and nobody even cared! I am just so frustrated that nobody cared the slightest bit. We waited a decent amount of time to enjoy the experience, and got nothing....
The food was good, the service was good but the problem was they posted a sign on an open door that could not possibly be read or seen that said "dinner pricing will apply for lunch on mother's day. 1st of all, no way to see the sign, but when asked why, they said " we always do this on mother's day" as if that's an answer? And then went on to say "the portions are bigger" I've been eating there for 30+ years and the portions are NOT bigger, only the price was. Same size soup, same size salad, same size rice bowl, same amount of veggies and same amount of scallops. NO JUSTIFICATION TO ADD AN EXTRA $10.00+ PER PLATE, except to make more money and take advantage of loyal customers who patronize them. Lunch for two should NOT cost $75 and all we drank was water? Really?
ご馳走様でした！Never a bad time at Tokyo Steak, and always a bonus when the owner is your chef! The scallops just melt in your mouth — I could eat them all day! Our friends from out of town were impressed. It’s always fun seeing the celebrities on the wall while waiting to be seated.また来ます！
Service was horrible part of my party never received part of there meal and they still wanted to charge for it. Then once we complained about it one of there chef's said that we should of never asked them to cook the food without the rice the same guy was clapping and being super rude as we were leaving then there servers were fussing at us to stop and ignore the fact that we were being completely disrespected. I will never eat at this location again and I encourage no one to ever eat there again.
I would give them no star's but I can't the waitresse was so rude I ask her if I could get a lobster tale and she said r u sure it's pretty pricey like what come on I didn't called them to ask for the price. they really don't have lots of cook's my food was salty so we tip them 65$ and they were so nice so the only reason y we did it was because not everyone in that restaurant r like her so now ? ask me if I could pay for the lobster tale but the place was dirty really dirty food in the floors the place feels cold they need to get rid of all the workers so the place could work
Upon arriving we gave them our name and number, they told us the wait would be 30 minutes. Now this Is a party of 5 adults and 2 children, we waited outside in the cold for them to notify us when our table was ready. The workers tonight gave away our table to another family and allowed them to actually cross our name off the list. This place is very unprofessional and I will never suggest it to anyone in Palmdale. I would rate zero if I could.
The food is great, however there are usually not enough cooks and they want to get the whole table fully packed so it takes a while to get your food cooked.
Okay first it was weird. There was nobody in the entrance to greet you except for a smaller older man on his phone walking around. Finally got seated after 5/6 minutes at a sticky table with leftover food on the grill and other tables. After waiting 10 minutes next to someone else's loud kids, nobody taking our drink order. The older man running around like he's literally the only one there. The wife and I decided to leave out the front door where we find it's chained closed from the inside. This is nowhere near safe. Especially at a place like this.
Love this place. Friendly staff & delicious food. My 7 year old loves going to hear them tell the story as they cook his meal in front of him. I always have a great time here.
Review for February 1st 2022. Happy lunar new year. Tokyo Steak is a Japanese style restaurant where they prepare and cook the food in front of your view. It is a good experience but it is better with a date, I was here alone?. But I was hungry and I wanted to come and experience this restaurant before they close. I got there just in time as I was driving back from Los Angeles. Nevertheless, it was delicious and the tuna sushi was especially tasty. I'm not guilty, to say that I absolutely enjoy the show that Jerry put on for us. Thank you
