Great service! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff courses are perfectly timed and delicious! My daughter loves their ahi tuna and their tofu soup! I liked their sashimi and mushroom soup! Delicious! Good on any night.
One thing any restaurant needs to do is compare what their patrons could get elsewhere for the same price. I have no huge objection to the food I was served, it was fine if not exceptional. For $50 I got one average glass of Chardonnay, a very small spider roll and four pieces of shrimp tempura. I do not have a huge appetite but actually left a little hungry. I dined as a single person and was not checked on once during the meal. From the get-go I was told that there would be a delay in getting my food as there was only one sushi chef serving the entire restaurant. I understand with Covid that it’s been difficult to hire people so I don’t hold that against the restaurant. I was informed. Unfortunately,I’m gonna take my 50 bucks and eat a lot better somewhere else next time.
Very nice job with friendly service, fine selection and good value. We will definitely be coming back when we return to Palm Springs
Absolutely fantastic. Incredibly friendly service and amazingly fresh and delicious fish. I make sure to visit every time I am in Palm Springs - Taka Shin is always a highlight.

The service was good, and the atmosphere is okay but a bit stark. The miso soup was excellent, probably the best I’ve had. I went specifically for a bento (the online menu shows them), but to my disappointment they no longer have bentos. I ordered a tempura combo which was decent but a very small portion for $38. My partner got a sashimi combo which was also decent but a small portion. I think this place is best if you just want sushi a la carte, but brace yourself for the prices.
Excellent food and great attentive service! They follow all safety protocols here so you can be sure to have a good experience! I loved the Spicy Tuna Roll and the King Salmon Roll. The Ootoro was delicious and melted in my mouth. I love how peaceful the setting and music are. Very soothing colors and atmosphere! Thanks for the enjoyable experience!
Excellent service and very good, surprisingly good sushi. Of four places we've had sushi at in the CV, this is the best.
If your looking for quality over quanity come to this place. Great service and better food. Wish they were seven days a week.
This little spot is just far enough up Palm Canyon drive to not be crowded but it should be, super fresh sushi and ice cold beer is all you need on a hot evening, a true sleeper restaurant that should be checked out!
