Spent hours here on a Friday and was in love with the place. Our waiter left a lot to be desired but I could tell he was not the norm. Many staff doing awesome jobs! We got nachos and loved the fresh made chips. We stayed for live music, there was dancing, ages 4-84. The place filled up and there was ample seating. For sure would come back again! Wish I would have gotten more pictures!
This has to be one of the busiest restaurants in Palm Springs. They have an in house Mariachi band with dancers who are very entertaining. More important is the service and the food - both are outstanding. Portions are very generous and the menu is nicely priced. If you are in Palm Springs and looking for an authentic Mexican meal then this is the place for you!
Sat on patio. Hostess was going to put us at this little tiny table which would be okay for 1 person, but there were 2 of us so we requested a normal sized table. I had the vegetarian burrito. It had peppers, onions, mushrooms, and potato (??? - not sure why there was potato). No rice, no beans, no refried beans, no salsa or sour cream. As far as I could tell, it was not seasoned. When I went inside, the place just did not look clean. It was very dark and rather depressing. My friend liked her meal so that is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. Sorry but would not recommend.
Our host and our servers Alejandro/Adrian were great. The food is just average--a little overhyped and overpriced (maybe because of the area their focus is more on service than in the food per se?) But it's still probably some of the best Mexican food you'll in the desert. I've had better chicken tortilla soups in little holes in the walls around LA, and my friend's carnitas were a tad bit overcooked, and what was supposed to be spicy refried beans had no spice in them at all. With just one small bottled beer (they don't have any on tap) plus tip it was $45.00+, which I don't think was worth it. (And looks like they did not charge for the hot sauce we asked on the side, which they said would be an extra $2.95.).
What was once a great establishment with vibrant food and amazing staff has now faded. It was busy, overpriced and the food resembled that of an assembly style cafeteria. I send my food back and it still wasn't right. My fond memories of going here years back has been shattered by a less than amazing experience with bland soggy food. what a bummer!
We ate here twice while we in Palm Springs - both times before taking in the street market in the downtown. This is a fun restaurant with a great vibe. If you are considering a margarita, be sure to order the large one as it will last you all evening - it's a much better value. The food is good, as is the service. You cannot make a reservation and this a very busy restaurant so my best advice is to get there early. The chips and salsa are complimentary, and they keep you well stocked. Good value, great vibe, and if you like Mexican, a worthy place to stop downtown.
If you want authentic Mexican food this is not it. The rice looked and tasted like store bought microwave rice. The prices have gone up a lot, but I dont mind paying a higher price as long as the food matches its price, this place did not and we were regulars.
Very authentic and great service. The burrito & enchildas plate had huge enchiladas & a full sized burrito
It was a busy night because of Village Fest in downtown Palm Springs. All the restaurants were busy but the Manager (didn’t get his name…) was great and found us table top outside. Wonderful. Margarita’s with my friend on a beautiful evening - great customer service!
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the relaxed Palm Springs atmosphere. I had one of the traditional combination plates, which was very good. Our server was attentive. Good margaritas, too!
