Stopped in for lunch today since we are staying in the area. Nice menu with lots to choose from. We split the enchiladas suizas, which were really good. The service was good, our server was friendly and did check back on us. Prices are a bit higher than normal, but it is Palm Springs. Overall good meal; worth stopping by.
I don't like to write bad reviews but this place deserves it. My friend recommended the Original Las Casuelas since she has been a patron of this restaurant for a number of years. What a disappointment. I wish we had eaten at the Peruvian restaurant next door, instead of Las Casuelas. The chips and salsa were good, as was the outdoor seating BUT the rest........terrible. I ordered a vegetarian combination plate and all they stuck inside the burrito and enchilada was a slice of tomato and a few fried onions. The server didn't bring the side order of guacamole either and I had to remind him. I just couldn't eat the food at all. Yak!! What a waste of money. The bathroom was dirty, no soap to wash ones hands with and the trash can was overfilled with paper towel on the floor. There were plenty of employees working that evening but none of them bothered to check the bathrooms or the dirty carpet. You can get a better meal at La Señorita for half the price. Food here tastes like a reheated frozen dinner, even the guacamole tasted spoiled. Palm Springs is a classy place and mot restaurants here are really reputable. Perhaps Original Las Casuelas was awesome in the past but not anymore. As my friend put it, "They had their heyday, it was an incredible Mexican restaurant in the past but not anymore. I'll never return again." I won't either. Will Never Eat Here Again! Very Disappointing!
The best Mexican food! I had a single taco. Fantastic service as well! My friends had enchiladas. We sat on the patio and watched people go by. Great historic little restaurant, around since 1958. Love this place!
Came for a michelada, asked what beer and I chose a modelo. They brought out a ice cold cup with a little bit of michelada mix, if there were more michelada mix it would have been better. It also came with chips and salsa.Food looks decent and maybe I’ll try something else next time. Took a long time to bring the check.
This place was Amazing. Nice ambiance and GREAT service. Food did take a while to come out. Food was so tasty. We got so full. We ate indoors. I will return here when in town. A pleasant experience, besides waiting for the food.
A mixed review. Good margaritas, fiesta guacamole and chips. Also good (for my partner) was the combination chicken plate. The combination dish for me was vegetables and this was really very disappointing, bland and without any taste just rather like boiled veggies in a pancake. I had to ask for refried beans (after requesting them at the start but they weren't delivered). Really disappointing visit to what looked like a popular venue. Not as good as our normal Palm Springs mexican restaurant
Got the grilled chicken tacos. ?Huge portion. Only ate one. Haha. Tasted super amazing. Wonderful flavor. Guac and sides? were great. Fresh off the grill, was super hot. Wrapped up also. The service was a tiny bit slow. Didn’t replenish our chips and salsa. But that’s ok! The salsa also only came in one bowl. Not conducive to easy access and dipping for the whole table. Also gross for germs if you’re not with your family lol. But the vibes were good and the food was great. Crevice tasted very fishy ?but people like that (I don’t) but it was wonderful overall! ?
