Just love the vibe, the food, the swanky cocktails and the service. Thank you for a fun experience and the Bear behind the bar ?

great food great service great price :-)

Brunch at the Ace Hotel diner - Kings Highway. You have the option to sit inside or poolside. We went poolside. Good shade, some music on to create some atmosphere. Benches and tables for seating. Great little spot.Good coffee. Great juices (served in a bottle — which we don’t mind). Good brunch selection.I went avo toast with an egg. Loved the pea sprouts on the toast. Perfect sour dough. My wife went veggie scramble. Lots of breakfast potatoes and a decent scramble.Once you’re done eating — take a moment to take in the 1950s pool decor. The sun shades and loungers are beautifully retro. And the overall vibe of the hotel feels like you step back in time. Not sure We’d ever stay at Ace Hotel — but certainly will come back for drinks and brunch.

Classic Route 66 Diner vibes at King’s Highway located in The Ace Hotel. They serve lunch/breakfast until 2pm and then they switch over to the dinner menu.I went for a late breakfast and tried out their breakfast burrito. It’s a bit $$$ (I’m used to those hole in the wall places in SoCal) but the burrito overall itself was very yummy! Solid comfort food.

3.5/5 Food5/5 AtmosphereThis dichotomy is like the obvious standard for Ace Hotel stuff. You’re here for the artfully curated experience photographable experience, and the food is just good enough to not make you upset at the price of it all. But like, come on…everything looks so nice in these places. Worth it. We messed up when dinners stopped looking like this everywhere.Ordered the Kings Breakfast and the Breakfast Sandwich, both perfectly fine. Potatoes were seasoned well enough. Nothing super special with the food here, but the ambience makes you feel like you’re in a Tarantino film or whatever.Nothing to complain about with the service, price is standardly high but that’s just what you’re signing up for eating out nowadays.Would eat here again for sure!

We were staying at the Ace Hotel so had breakfast and lunch here a few times. The inside looks really cool, with an unforced retro diner look. Tarantino film set vibe. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I tried many items and all were tasty and well done. Fried chicken sandwich, Caeser shrimp salad , and avocado toast for breakfast (with a side if chicken sausage) , all recommended. You may need reservations for peak times if the hotel is busy.

I hate leaving bad reviews for businesses, but I think people need to know. We had friends visiting from Canada and decided to take them there for brunch per a local friend's recommendation (who hadn't been there in a while). And we were embarrassed. The best word to describe the place is NEGLECTED. The walls, the floors, the tables, everything looked dirty and run down. The restaurant was almost empty when we got there, with lots of dirty tables, and yet we had to wait a while to get service. The staff was nice enough, but didn't seem to want to be there. And the food/drinks were way overpriced for what we got.4 of us ordered the breakfast burrito, and while it tasted pretty good, the presentation was horrible: just a (small-ish) burrito on a big empty plate (w/ little cup of salsa). Nothing else.My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich and got 2 pieces of dry toast with eggs, bacon and a tiny bit of cheese in between. No sauce or seasonings. So dry it kept falling apart. The only breakfast that was good and had a nice presentation was the avocado toast.Anyway...I hope it was just an isolated thing, that perhaps they were short staffed, but it was pretty bad. No one seemed to care that we were there, and the space is really sad looking. Neglected. We are DEFINITELY not ever wasting our time or money there again.

Non-existent service- don’t waste your time. We made a reservation online but was going to be a bit late so we tried to call and let them know however they didn’t pick up multiple times and their inbox was full.We arrived and waited to talk to someone but we were ignored without acknowledgement by the host while she was talking to someone for a long time. Finally, after getting seated we were not checked on by a server. We ended up walking out and going somewhere where we experienced great service. I can’t say much about the food or drinks because we never had a chance to order any.

Walked in for dinner for one. Restaurant was only about 25% occupied. Tables were set up for diners, including the full counter that was empty. I was told it would be a 30-45min wait due to prior reservations. Sure, no problem. 30 minutes later, no reservations came in and no one was sat. Also, no tables left. I was then seated. During my entire time dining the restaurant was never more than 25% occupied. Perhaps understaffed which I understand, but don’t lie about it. I also saw employees standing around, so who knows. The cocktail I ordered was delicious! I started with a beet salad that was good. I love getting artisan food in a classic looking restaurant. For the entree I opted for the chicken sandwich. Please don’t get it. Small chicken breast, fried until all the moisture was gone, and served on a generic hamburger bun. The fries were hot, but the portion was small. This same dish could of been served at a bowling alley or at a bar. I expected more from Kings Hideaway.I ordered dessert to go. The key lime pie was forgettable.

We had a great brunch here with friends. It is a popular place for brunch and lunch, and most days it is not terribly busy. The service was friendly and prompt, and our breakfast was really well prepared and delicious.I would recommend reservations for dinner, though. We will definitely be returning here again!
