I was once taught by a Mexican chef that you can judge the quality of a restaurant by their salsas. In this case, I found it to be true. The salsas were both flavorful and had a nice kick. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and they also had a rich flavor. The order was to go and the kid who took my order was very friendly and helpful, offering recommendations. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide napkins and plastic silverware, especially for generous 40% to go order tippers :-). Luckily I checked the bag before I left and grabbed some myself.
Jaime the manager is the reason I am writing this review. He took a potentially negative customer experience and turned it completely around. He is professional and his customer service is beyond exceptional. I ordered a breakfast burrito this morning and when I got back to my hotel, I discovered the order was wrong. I called and spoke with Jaime and he apologized and told me he would be happy to remake my order for me. Since I was staying in a hotel, I did not want to take another Uber back so he suggested that if I wanted to come back for dinner then he would make sure my order was correct and comp my meal. Living on the east coast now, I really wanted authentic Mexican food while I was here on vacation. I decided to go back this evening and Jaime not only was true to his word, he made some great recommendations and the food was delicious! He also took time to explain what happened to my order that morning and how they would keep it from happening again. I appreciate the excellent customer service. Mistakes happen but it’s how businesses handle them that make all the difference. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be back. If you want authentic, delicious Mexican food with the best and most friendly service in town, look no further than Felipe’s!
I had the shrimp tacos and my friend had the veggie enchiladas. Both were good. I loved the butter garlic on the shrimp and the way they fried the outer tortilla on the taco. My friend said the flavors were good on his enchiladas, but he wished there was more of a variety of vegetables inside (looked like either spinach or kale to me).
Went on a Saturday night, got a seat fairly quick. The service was slow as to be expected but chips and salsa helped. Food was good.
Excellent service and great food! Beef could have been seasoned more but can always add hot salsa.
We stopped at Felipes today on a very blustery day. They were only serving on the patio so we decided to stick it out in the wind and we’re so glad we did. We tried fish tacos, enchiladas verde and an appetizer called Almones…kind of like fajitas with cheese. All of it was fresh and delicious! Daniella, our waitress was so attentive and so sweet. Felipes is a family owned restaurant that we will be going back to soon!
Great fun. Stopped in for a last meal before leaving town. Good way to end the visit. Very friendly staff, tasty food and huge portions, lively Mexican music and outdoor seating with misters to beat the heat. The guacamole and mango margarita were particularly memorable.
Just delicious I ate the hole thing ? being from the Caribbean I love to eat mojarras and these one was delicious, great service at Felipe’s!!!
