Very well-run property. This is ideal for those who prefer a small, quiet place to relax. There is a spectacular view of the San Jacinto mountain from the East side of the pool area. Ask for Room 36 if you want to stare at it all day! The rooms are intentionally under-decorated, but clean and with very good beds. The bathroom is quite spacious and modern. Keep bathroom door closed to ensure a cool room if you are there in the summer!. The owners also have two restaurants that adjoin the property. One is a popular Italian restaurant BIRBA and the other a Breakfast/Lunch (cozy) "Cheeky's". Additionally, Palm Canyon Drive is steps away and a mild walk southward gets you into all the shops and restaurants. No need to drive. We even used the bicycles for a great Sunday morning ride along the Las Palmas loop (directly West of the hotel). I only have two things I'd like to see changed: 1) the pool gates open at 7am, which means I can't enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the morning sun hit the mountain (which happens around 6-ish during the summer). Likewise, while the hotel provides coffee and baked goods, they aren't available until 7:30. 2) the hotel pumps music around the pool area and it is a (imho) monotonous "new age" marathon. So, if hours of that would annoy you, bring ear buds and your own music. On the consecutive weekends in July that I stayed there, there were only 1 or 2 families with young children. Primarily it is couples or solo folks. There is sufficient parking on the property as well as an overnight security guard. This is a lovely place, if you value quietude and the charm of "old palm springs". I can't wait to go back.
Loved our stay at the Alcazar. I was looking for a smaller boutique hotel to stay at for the weekend and this place was perfect. It was quiet, clean, and had excellent customer service. We really enjoyed the pool/hot tub area and the use of the free bikes for the weekend. The free coffee and croissants in the morning were also a plus. I loved that it was walking distance to so many good restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.
This last-minute find was PERFECT for what we were looking for! The room came with a fireplace, the pool was amazing, and the downstairs dinner and brunch spots were delicious. It was one of the best stays we had on our journey through California and we will most definitely be back!
Stayed here for 3 nights and wishing it was longer. This is a cute courtyard style hotel with the prerequisite air conditioning and pool. It’s clean and quiet. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Bikes for your use and restaurants on site. Our room is was a pool side king. The bed was very comfy. Staff are really great and we could not get enough of the pool. Thus is a low key relax kind of place. We loved it and can’t wait to return.
Such a quaint boutique hotel with more than decent amenities, including the pool. The room perfectly fit the three of us during Coachella weekend. Very accessible as it’s close to other food establishments and also just 15mins away on foot to downtown Palm Springs. Service was smooth too.
We love this resort and will return very soon. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!
I really enjoyed staying here. I loved the fact it was a smaller hotel so it was never too busy. And it is within walking distance of so many restaurants and shops.
We stayed recently at the Alcazar during March break. The others in my party had stayed here before but it was my first time. I really enjoyed my stay, the room was nice and comfortable and I did not find any issues with it but if car noise bothers you I would suggest you not stay in a mountain view room (mention to the staff and they should be able to help out). As I said I did not have any issues with it. The hotel is smaller which I enjoyed as the pool and courtyard was never too busy. The hotel is on the north end of the main strip in Palm Springs but there are many great bars and restaurants within walking distance and bikes are available for sign out at no charge. The staff was always really friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony outside my room was really amazing and you could watch the sun go down over the mountains.
I like this hotel. I would stay again and recommend it to those visiting Palm Springs. A boutique hotel. I believe 32-34 rooms. It is quite has a great pool and hot tub. The staff is very helpful. One item to be aware of. Rooms 15,16,17,18,35,36,37,38 back up to Indian Canyon Dr. Vehicle noise is an issue throughout the night. Suggestion. My wife and I use a noise machine. Perhaps the ownership would consider putting noise machines in the rooms as a courtesy to guests.
We had a wonderful stay. I’m glad we splurged for a poolside room, it was well worth the money. Our room, the hotel pool area and grounds, and breakfast were all fantastic. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We traveled from Virginia to meet friends in Palm Springs for Moderism Week. This was our first time to PS, we’re already planning our next visit. Thanks, Alcazar, for a great experience.
