We always enjoy our meals at the Fix. Especially the Bloody Mary!! Best drink in town. Well priced great food !!
Wilma and Freida is normally our go to. We decided to try somewhere new. I have seen many reviews about wait times but we arrived around 915 on a Saturday and only waited 5 minutes. The Bloody Mary I ordered was delicious and the huevos rancheros were equally yummy. I have a 4 star because although it wasn’t a long wait initially when you have ordered it was pockets of delay getting condiments and the check. I think once that is fixed wait times will better. It’s really more of a 4.5.
We had guests in town and took them to Fix. In truth, most of the other places we had in mind were booked. The meal was just awful. We were told the chef prepared prime rib, something he usually only does on Thursday. So several of us jumped on the special. As it turns out, we suspect the chef did prepare the rib on Thursday but failed to sell it, so he served the rest to us that night. God , it was awful! Greyish slab of meat with zero flavor! How can you mess up prime rib??! It was chewy and colorless, with a pale au jus drizzled over it. Total rip-off almost inedible My sis in law had salmon with veggies, which turned out to be a huge serving of undercooked TURNIPS!!! Who serves turnips with anything? And when underdone…. Well, we paid several hundred dollars for a party of 5 and we tipped 20% as well. The waiter was ok, tho not particularly attentive. The place was empty even tho it was a Saturday night. Now I know why. I live here year round and predict I won’t be seeing Fix on El Paseo next fall. This place won’t make it thru the summer.
The customers and workers were super nice
We booked to hit the 3 to 5 happy hour. Arrived with a reservation and were told they had no food for order until 5 so no happy hour food. Also were not offered happy hour drinks. We left and went to Stuffrd in La Quinta instead. Long drive for nothing
The prime rib is so flavorful and juicy. The wait staff is awesome and is always very attentive. We love coming here f0r dinners.
