We really enjoy fish tacos, and when I found out this restaurant has fish tacos, we decided to give them a shot. We ordered two bowls as well, to go. The service received from the employees was great; we greatly appreciate them. As for the foods, the bowls are very great-tasting! The shrimp and chicken were cooked the right amount and the taste of everything together, specially with their spicy sauce, caught us by surprise because it was great! As for the fish tacos… I was very underwhelmed. The fish didn’t have any taste to it, it was overcooked, and had air pockets inside instead of actual fish. It was surprising how the quality of the foods changed from the bowls (that were great-tasting) to the fish tacos (that were very mediocre-tasting). I highly recommend this place because they have great service and amazing bowls, but don’t expect much from the fish tacos.
I had a late lunch carry out at Rubio's Coastal Grill in Palm Desert on April 29, 2022. Ancho citrus grilled shrimp burrito. Had rice, black beans and avocado in it besides the shrimp. The shrimp was cooked well and was warm. But parts of the rest were cold. They prepare the rice and beans ahead of time and it wasn't warm enough, even cold. Tortilla wasn't warm enough, either. Also, the sauce was vert runny, which it usually isn't. Had stomach problems several hours later and half the night. Quality isn't consistent at either this or their La Quinta location. I notice that they have staff turnover, including in the kitchen, which is probably the problem. Many reviewers on internet complain of undercooked or not warm enough food. Both locations need better staff supervision and training.
The BEST happy hour in town!! 3pm-6pm DAILY ... THIS is where you need to be. Varied drink and quality food options for HH. Recommended by a friend, and she was right!! Spacious, second- floor parking, I walked right in, in-door and patio seating available. I had an 'old fashion' for my HH drink; roasted Brussel sprouts w/ walnuts and the meatballs for apps! Yeah, I know.... NOBODY does that, right? The service was engaging and efficient!

This is my to-go for whenever I'm craving late-night Mexican food - the super veggie burrito is awesome, and the salsas are also really good. Their delivery service is great, and their food quality is consistent. Great option to satisfy your burrito craving!

My wife and I like to order the Friday fish tacos meal. We ordered 2 meals as per usual plus an extra fish taco for the road. We get our order and get home to enjoy our Friday fish taco meal. The fish taco was so overcooked the fish was dam near disintegrated on the inside. The battered was so overcooked and filled with oil it was amazing that the US military didn't want to invade it for its oil rights. This wasn't on one taco, this was on all five tacos. I am contemplating using the tacos as wheel chucks to prevent trucks from going downhill. This is not Rubios quality is about, maybe at Exxon, British Petroleum, but not at Rubios. We spent spent almost 20 dollar's on fish so over cooked, I could have went to Autozone and could have at least had oil for my vehicle and a snicker bar for dinner and still come out ahead.
Went because I had a coupon. The staff was super nice. We took the food to go but honestly it just wasn't as good as I remember. The chips were disappointing. The burrito was weirdly cold. Just overall very meh.
Great fresh food. The burritos are tacos are amazing! I tried the California salmon bowl and it was to die for. Clean place and friendly people. Will definitely go back sonn...
