I absolutely recommend this particular restaurant to anyone who are living or are visiting Palm Desert ?
Local and family owned. Going to be hard to go back to my local favorite at home! This beats it hands down.
Comfortable place to enjoy some classic Italian dishes and a nice pour of their house chianti. Both insode and 'outside' tables. (Outside has plastic walls.) I've only been to the location at Varner & Washington.
Friendly and comfortable with a nice staff. I went for dinner previously, this time went for lunch. They have some nice lunch plates or pizza for $8.95.
Best Pizza Ever Had Terrific
Great service, best food. Same great menu under the new ownership.
Friendly waitstaff, clean booth , excellent portions .Really enjoyed the sourdough cheese bread & the lasagna
A fantastic local restaurant with great service. Quality good and fair pricing. We had the Mario's special pizza and it was outstanding. Everyone should go and enjoy.
Had dinner at Mario's Friday night; I had the Chicken Piccata. It had too many capers for my taste but the dish was still very good. My wife had the Lasagna. She said it was not the best she's ever had. She prefers Lasagna that has Ricotta cheese. This version apparently had none. She ate very little and took none home. The garlic bread was very lightly browned. I would have preferred a much darker toasted bread.Came back two days later. Food was pretty bad. My wife had the pizza. The sauce was not very good. Tasted like tomato sauce. Ate two pieces, left the rest. I tried the Cannaloni. It was terrible! The Cannolini came smothered in a white sauce and the dish was absolutely tasteless. Tasted like flour more than anything else. I took a single bite and decided not to wast my calories on this dish. Really bad dish. It took quite a while to get our food so II did not bother to try something else. And again, the garlic bread was hardly browned at all. I guess one has to specify that the bread be toasted. Probably won't be back. Save your money. Find an Olive Garden.
Marios turned out to be a happy accident for me as I was headed home from work one night. Now I eat there 2x or 3x per week on purpose. Lasagna and shrimp alfredo are fire!
